MVS Cabinets and switching games

On my Japanese 4-slot cabinet, I want to change the credit mode to free play, but when I do this, I can no longer use the select button. What gives? Am I doing something wrong, am I supposed to change something in the BIOS? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, how should I go about cleaning the cabinets and the memory card boards and etc.?

Go into the Service mode, and under Setting the Soft dips there's a menu "Setting Up The Cabinet" There you'll find an option that changes Game Select vs. Credits. That should be what you're looking for

But how do I do this with a Japanese BIOS. I do not read Japanese. Can you tell me the number or count to get to this? For example, down once, left twice...

Here's some instructions to follow once you get to the service/setup screen:

1. Go down to the third line of text
2. Press the Red (1st) button 1x
3. Go down to the third line of text
4. Press the Red (1st) button 1x
5. Press the Green (3rd) button 2x
6. Go down to the 7th line of text
7. Press the Red (1st) button 1x

That should do it as long as the lines are the same in both languages.
