Many inquiries came to us about the talk over some idea that there have been custom cases made to fit MVS cartridges to give them an AES look, all for the outrages some of $10.00 each!. Nothing can be further from the truth. If these cases were "custom made" then they would have been the exact correct size and not overly big as they currently are. As we said before, we were contacted by the person who made these cases (he has 5000 in stock) and he wanted us to sell them. He initially offered them through some people to sell on auction sites and through other Neo Exchange sites with complete failure at $10.00 and then $6.99. He asked for our help, he said he needed to make some money back and wanted to sell them to through us for $5.00 each, which we were going to offer to everyone for ZERO profit (just to help this person move them). We told him that we knew those were nothing more than "UMATIC" vinyl cases used in the professional video business. These can be bought in bulk for about $1.00 each. Upon telling him this and after doing more research, we decided that the MVS collectors didn't want these cases, and most MVS collectors prefer the original SNK cardboard MVS boxes (we do). And the key issues was the incorrect size of the cases. The inner case fits the cartridge perfectly, but the overall size of the cases was just wrong. And if we cannot fully give something the "NGF approval" we told him that we could not and would not sell these through our sites. We are not telling people not to buy them, we are just giving the facts and our opinions. Now this person is offering them for $3.00, which we feel is a much better price for the average MVS collector. At that price he should be able to move all his excess vinyl cases. For other people who may want to buy the vinyl umatic cases, all anyone has to do is a search for "umatic vinyl cases" and you will find many places they sell and offer them in various colors. There is a place that will custom make them at www.nexpak.com. We hope this information helps everyone who may have wanted to order or make some of these cases on their own. If anyone else wants to have these cases custom made in the CORRECT size, we recommend that the cases should be made in the color black. Then you can feel free to send one into NeoGeoFreak/NGF-USA for us to evaluate and report on. If everything is of top quality and of the proper size for the cartridge and more importantly the insert, then we will fully recommend the cases to our customer base world-wide with the full "NGF Approval."
