Bi-Lingual MVS games.

DAMN that's some good thinking! If there's one reason I truely love SNK it's the fact that 90% of the MVS games you buy will play in English or in Japanese depending on the system you use! No localization. No waiting for some weak ass company to do a US version with English! RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! Boom..English. I don't even care if it's BAD English (the language, not the band. I DO care if it's the band), it's the thought that counts.

True removing blood and bounce is a little unnecessary and I could do without that but...hey, that' doesn't change the fact that it's cool.

Hell YES, that was very cool of SNK to do that. I wish Sony and Nintendo would do the same thing (Exception of the GBA), but the market is too big. What is the point anyway? Someone will develop a mod chip sooner or later

haha right on Shawn... Magic TG god I miss playing that, but I enjoy my Neo Geo more. The whole english japanese conversion is super slick alows us impatient people to not have to wait for a US version & not be annoyed by all japanese game text. I agree the translations aren't the best but hey most the game play in the games well make up for it!!!!!!!!

Long Live SNK KNS Neo Geo or whoever the company shall now become.

Fuck, that would be good in my Red/Blue Mana Flare deck... Haha, I haven't played Magic in years, I can't even imagine how many sets are out there that I've never seen. It's such a damn fun game, although I'll never spend another cent on the cards, I still to this day stand by my statement that Magic is a more complex and thought-provoking game than chess...

Has anyone ever used a program called "Apprentice"? It's a completely computerized version of the game, you can download complete sets and make whatever deck you feel like making... Has online play, too. Damn good program.

Oh yeah, I'll keep this post on topic. Good goin' SNK.

I like this idea too, but I remember an article in some magazine that practices like this ultimately lead (or will lead)to the demise of the U.S. branch of a game company.

Look what happened to SNK USA.
This didn't seem to effect Capcom, tho. Many Capcom players import games as much as SNK fans.

Granted, SNK USA wasn't managed very well, but this is beside the point.

Many SNK fans get English and JP versions anyway, right?

Bi-lingual carts and CDs were an ingenious idea. It eliminates the need for a middle-man (although there's always the risk of lousy translations). Still, I wish more import games (like Tobal No. 2 and Guilty Gear X) could've done that.

You know what would've been a great idea that could've benefited SNK? The ability to play Neo-Geo CDs on PC. Imagine, faster CD-ROM drive= much shorter load times.
