We all know finding a good source of AES carts can sometimes be difficult, especially in the UK, and with ebay you don't always know what you're getting.

There's also the import tax levy imposed on goods coming into the EU which can add to the final cost.

What I'd like to know is what you'd be willing to pay (sensibly) for brand new AES carts.

These could either be SUN/SNK releases or !Arcade! releases. Obviously with !Arcade! releases you're getting something that's going to quite rare and unique, and therefore you may be willing to pay a bit more; but I'd like to know.

You can give your answer in £, €, or $; but please try and make it a sensible one.

I don't really want to read, 'oh I'd pay $200 for MS4', because you know that won't happen.

Anyways, please post your thoughts, and remember this is for NEW releases only (the used market is too wide open) :D

Thanks for your help peeps! :)

I would like to pay no more than 250 € for new releases, 500 € for rare games. This will not happen for sure. Our beautiful Europe is smashed by the US and Japanese Markets, but we still have the Neo Store, !arcade! and eBay.

43 Engrish carts left to complete my Collection.

Oh Engrish carts!!!!! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" />

well, I'm in paris, and there is a couple of store that sell AES new & used. there also all very expensive (kof2001 US - 680€ <img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" /> ) except one:

AKIBA - price are resaonable. (kof2001 jp - 400€). that's a little bit more expensive than neostore, but if you count shipping & maybe eventual taxes, it's ok.

you also have laurent at <a href="http://www.neoayato.com" target="_blank">www.neoayato.com</a> & gameswave ( <a href="http://www.gameswave.com" target="_blank">www.gameswave.com</a> ) where you can preorder slug 4 for 399€. that's a fair price.

see ya :)

Here in Sweden there are no stores at all who sell Neo Geo stuff. And if something arrives, like used game or someone exchanges a used Neo system for example an Xbox, they usually dissapear and never make the store shelves. That's why most of us here in Scandinavia go with eather MVS or Neo CD. But if some one still wants to go with AES, Ebay, Neo-Store and !arcade! are the sources. We also have a paper that is called "Yellow Paper" and where people around the country trade and sell used stuff. Sometimes Neo Geo games/systems pop up there but that almost never happends. I'm a MVS collector now but If I still owned an Aes I would like pay for games like: KOF2001 $300US, MS4 $300US, Sengoku 3 $300US, Prehistorical Isle $400US, Zupapa $300US, NITD $350US. You see the pattern almost. Around 300-400us I would like to pay for the new games. I mean for !arcade! to make for example, just 50ex of like Strikers 1945 plus, would be stupid. To make games in little quantity like that and put an heavy price tag on it, thinking that it will be a very rare game and there for the price will increase among traders and ebay in the future, is bad for neo collectors/gamers in general. If you suddenly would like to own a Neo collection or new Neo Aes collectors arrive, they are gonna have a hard way of finding the game and propably pay huge sums for it. Instead of makeing like 200 ex of Strikers and have it constatly in inventory, drop the price, they would earn even more in the long term and also Neo Community in general would profit from it. I donno, maybe !arcade! does not have the funds to make such thing and there fore make a online-order based production. Tarma, why you ask? Are you thinking of opening a online store or?

We can use the Neo Store to make a comparison; for example Metal Slug 4.
If you buy it from Shawn you're paying:
300$ for the game
+
35$ for EMS shipping
+
30$ for customs
That's a total of 365$.

But if you buy it within Europe:
15$ for shipping
+
0$ for customs :D
365$ - 15$ = 350$ would be a good price for a new release. Even a little more would be reasonable because buying within Europes makes the payment a little bit more easy for people without Paypal and you avoid customs employees opening and touching our loved carts.
An Euro seller with new releases for 300-350$ would be really really great! Sorry Shawn... ;)

Kind of... you're along the right lines. I need to guage demand first tho. It's no point me offering a service that nobody is going to use.

The problem seems to be the import charges and time it takes to get hold of carts and of course finding a reliable, yet price friendly source.

If the carts were already in Europe ready to be distributed - you would get your game quicker and cheaper.

With releases like Strikers, I think it is more down to demand than anything else. !Arcade! is not going to produce a run of 500 carts if there are no customers to buy them. Plus, I think for every conversion you need the MVS cart for the ROM chips. So if there isn't a great deal of MVS carts available for conversion then AES runs will be limited.

Also I think Strikers was only around $300-$350 upon release. !Arcade! still has a few copies left, judging by ebay, and they're at $350.

Ahh, I see. I did not know that they had to kill a MVS copy to make a AES one. I thought that !arcade! made the rom chips aswell. Then I understand why he had to take online orders, before the actual production. Another european source that is more close to neo community would be nice. I mean Telegames in UK suck really bad so.. Go for it!

You could have a minimal stock and the home page would not cost so much eather. And besides, you will have a increased contact with Neo Geo products. I would dream of working with something I like.

Keep us informed Tarma. It would be great to buy MS4 in Europe for less than 350 USD.

Yes, I'll be happy to keep you informed. :D

I doubt I'll have anything in place by the release of MS4, but who knows? Watch this space... ;)
