I am travelling to Hong Kong, Italy, Spain and New York, what are the best place, ways or shops to buy the best neogeo stuff without being ripped off?
I do want some AES carts, and maybe a system.

I leave in 2 days!

Hi ThE OutsiDer!
Don't waste your time looking for Neo AES in Madrid (Spain). It's almost impossible to find good stuff for a fair price. There's an import shop called CholloGames near "Puerta del Sol", but all they have are some oldies carts. They used to have some Gold Systems in box for 400 USD, but I think that they sold all of them some months ago. There are some other import shops like Dream Games at "Plaza de Callao", but they don't usually have Neo Geo stuff in stock. They travel to Japan every month so you can order (for a high price) them the games you want, but if you are going to stay in Spain less than a month they won't have time enough.
Where in Spain are you going to be?

I'm in Australia and a friend of mine went to Hong Kong 6 months ago and he didn't find much NeoGeo stuff apart from a few overpriced King Of Fighter home carts . Your best bet would be to ring Mr Chan the owner of Hong Kong online store Gamechoice (www.gamechoice.com.hk )on 852 9263 2332 and see if you can organize to meet him over there to buy some Neo merchandise .

Hi man, best place to buy neo stuff is in HKong.
I have been there 7 months ago:many us and jap cd and home cartridge.(kof 97 or 98 for 60 usd...).
Go to Sham Shui Po Station(Golden shopping center).
Try Nelson Street,there's 1 store.
Try in the New territories(one station before the terminus, there you will find another second hand game shopping center.
Try in Kowloon station, there's another little shopping center.
Try in HK Island,in the west of the island, you will find another one.
In Kowloon,go to pakpolee Cal Center in Say Young Choi Street:At the 8th or 14 th floor I do not remember, you will find Baby Boom Toys...
I hope it will help you.
Ps :D o not believe Chinese people because sometimes in HK,they will give you faked info.Do not be afraid to walk to find what you are looking for.
Regards,
Chamane.

Here's the report on Neo Geo hunting in New York... and unfortunately it's not too good. Just about EVERY place where you can find home carts are way overpriced. Multimedia 1.0 has a good selection of older titles, but charges way too much. There's also a game shop near ground zero that has some games but also places them at ridiculous prices. I've heard of good shops in Chinatown, however, I have never been to them myself. They might be a little more fair with their prices.

For gaming, however, you HAVE to go to the Chinatown Fair. This arcade is notorious for having some of the best gamers in the East. Plus, it's one of the few arcades in the US that has as many SNK machines as Capcom titles. A true arcade in its original pure form.

Good luck on hunting down some great buys!

What do you guys think about ncsx.com? or do they not have a shop but online trade only?

NCS is an awesome place to order from. I've ordered many times and have never had one complaint. As for a store, I am not sure, but as far as reliability goes, I would have to say they are in the top tir when it comes to import stores on the net.

outsider, i would really recommend ncs for you...

their prices is fair, and shipping to australia is fast...

they also pack the game very nicely, secure, and not even a single piece of dust will touch your games :D

i've ordered from them many times, and have no problems at all, you can also cancel your order at any time...

btw, can you find neo (other retro gaming) stuff in melbourne? i might go there this august for the WWE Global Warning Tour.. <img src="graemlins/drool2.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool 2]" />

In NY, you can check Multimedia 1 in East Village, but the prices are high and their selections are mainly US carts, I talk to the manager Greg Wilcox once a while (he's in my TurboGrafx club).

In Chinatown, NCS's office is located there but they don't have retail store for people to walk in and look at the games, but it's the most reliable place to buy games online. However, the retail stores with most NG games is JnL in Chinatown, on Elizabeth St, they've just moved to a larger area on the ground by Canal St (still on Elizabeth) while keeping their old store in the basement shopping mall. Before you get excited on their games, check their prices first, it's high.
