Can someone tell me the measurements for SNK Neo Geo MVS 25 arcade cabinet Jamma?

What is the difference between SNK Neo Geo MVS 25 arcade cabinet and SNK Super NEO MVS 29?

The 25 has a 25 inch monitor, while the Super 29 has a 29 inch monitor. The SNK Neo Geo MVS 25 arcade cabinet is a probably a US cab also. The SNK Super NEO MVS 29 is a Japanese cabinet. The US cab is made out of wood and is a lot heavier than the SNK Super NEO MVS 29. Also the SNK Super NEO MVS 29 has wheels on the back to move it around. They were bothe made by SNK to play neo geo games. The SNK Super NEO MVS 29 was made around 1996, while the US cabs were made from 1990 to around 1998 (I think). The SNK Super NEO MVS 29 is great for smaller homes because it takes less room. Both cabs fit through a normal size door way. If you have any questions I could probably answer them for you.

The unit can fit through my 35' front door, but I want to put it in the basement. The width of my basement door is 30' width. If it can't fit can I take it apart?

The unit I'm looking at doesn't come my the mother board. Is the mother board a plug and play? Where can I get one? They said I can use a mother board with up to 4-slots, what does that means?

Which one do you have and which do you recommend?

The exact measurements of my Super Neo 29" cab are 28.5 X 38 X 57.5. It fit through my 29" doorway in my room so I don't see why a 25" model wouldn't. I would go with a 29" model though. Once you go 29", it's hard to go any smaller... As far as the motherboard goes, yes. All you have to do is plug the JAMMA harness(one plug) and you're ready to go. You can find them here http://www.mdgamesales.com/neogeo.htm That's where I got mine. The slot numbers just mean that you can plug 1, 2, 4, or up to 6 MVS carts, depending on which motherboard you get, and then use a select button to pick between them. However, depending on the cabinet you get, you may only be able to use a 1-slot if your cabinet is a Full JAMMA standard. (It'll be mono sound and have no select button.) If you get a JAMMA+ cabinet,(It'll have stereo sound, plus a select button) you can use 2,4,6-slot boards, but you'd have to reconfigure for a 1-slot. I hope this helps!

I have a 25 inch monitor wooden old stle, very old style one, there is no way you can take that apart unless you saw it in half,if however you have the un-wooden one then I dont know but I definately tried because mine would not fit into my bedroom, heavy ass thing as well.there is no need to do any soldering unless only 3 buttons have been wired up,you just plug harness into motherboard and its ready to play you can play up to 6 slot,i use only a 1 slot as i cant get stereo only mono, sounds still great though

Stay away from the us 6-slots. The control panel alone is the length of your basement door.

So, let Me see if I`ve gotten this straight....If I buy a Japanese 4 slot mobo, I`ll be able to get full blood/bounce. If so, is there anyway to switch dips or something that`ll give Me English text when I want it ?? (a friend of Mine doesn`t have the brain span to overlook the Japanese text! <IMG SRC="smilies/tickled.gif" border="0"> )

if you get a jap machine there is no english language option however people do convert them for you such as mdgamesales for about 15 bucks. all mvs kof games have blood and bounce in english language versions apart from kof 2000 although mais breasts still bounce when she does her winning pose, they just dount bounce when she stands still now thats all <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Nope, however you could have someone change the bios to Europe. This would involve changing out a chip on the pcb, and should be done by a qualified professional like JMKurtz. <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

Lee, Mvsholic.....Thanks Guys!! I kinda want the blood/gore, just to keep the games 'pure'. I can do without the 'bouncing'....that`s what DVD`s are for!! <IMG SRC="smilies/makeface.gif" border="0"> At first, I wanted a 4-slot "wooden, red, stand-up" unit. However, I`m now leaning towards the 'sit-down candy'....seeing as how laziness is one of My better qualities!! <IMG SRC="smilies/drool2.gif" border="0">

Thanks again for the info!!

LOL likewise,I got kof 2000 last week,it is not that good, the enginge is slightly off and graphics and animation are not up to their high standards, however although the bounce is only in the game when Mai does her winning pose, there is also a very special extra bounce when she faces andy, they almost hit her face...lol.if you like the bounce get kof 94,they really bounce in that <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

OK, at the risk of annoying everyone.....I have been told that the 29" sit down cabs come basicly '1-slot'.....meaning no game select button, also no mem card slot. If this is true, how hard do You think it`d be for a clumsy geek like Me to add a button and mem slot to the panel?? ( I`m thinkin` 4-slot Mobo. )

I'd say my 29" cab weighs about 350 to 400lbs. You'd Definently need at least 2 people for lifting it around(Especially in stairs!) The nice thing about most sit-down cabs is that they have wheels at the rear bottom so you can wheel it around preatty easily. (kinda like a dolly) Adding additional buttons is kinda easy, but it would be better to have someone more experienced do it. I know that if you buy any cabs from the Tao Brothers on Ebay,(Arcadestuff, Arcadefever) they'll add the additional holes and buttons for like $28.) I was lucky to pick up my cabinet from them in person so I got to pick whichever cabinet I wanted. (They had like 26 of them!) I picked up a Super Neo 29" cab with 7 buttons on each side (4 on the top row, and 3 on the bottom row) I got it for like $430 in super mint condition. I'm very happy with mine!

I have a U.S. 25" Red & Black wooden 6-Slot unit I just bought from the TILT arcade I work at & that bitch is heavy as hell. To get in my 35" front door it took 5 people to carry it through the front door sideways. But the unit itself rocks & is really basic to maintain as far as controls & swaping carts. Be wary of used units though you don't wanna get one with a fucked up monitor that will cost you a whole nother arm unless you got a few hundred extra bucks to pull out your anus.
