Hey, how is everyone doing? My computer was in the shop for a couple of weeks. Did anybody miss me ( or even notice my absence?)

Anyway I got me a Saturn. Always wanted one. Only paid 10 bux. It came with a messed up original sega pad. I got myself a 3d pad because I'm used to the DC pad and it's basically the same thing.
I picked up a couple of cheap games. Revolution X, Virtua On and Fighters Megamix Jpn. I've got a pro action coming to me this week so I'll be able to play imports, snk games and capcom games.

Anyway here is a list of games I know of and want. Can anyone think of other good fighting games, rpg, shooters, platform or anything else? Also if anyone wants to help me out and sell me some of this stuff I would be quite happy.
in no particular order
Radiant Silver gun
Guardian Heroes (U.S. or Pal only)
Xmen cota
KOF 96
Realbout FF special
Dracula x
Shining FOrces 3
Magic Knight ray earth
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Shinobi Legions
Samurai SHowdown 4
Metal Slug 1
Diehard arcade game
Final FIght revenge

Thanx in advance.

So the Final Fight game sux? Well I want it just because it's my man Hugo's first fighting game (and I'm a big Final Fight fan)

What about Shinobi and Diehard. I remember DH being ok in the arcades.

I loved the Shinobi games for the older sega systems especially for Genesis.

Well, if you liked the Die Hard Arcade game, you will like the Saturn version. They are the exact same thing. Same hardware.

Shinobi for Saturn is HORRIBLE. What a waste of time. Look elseware.

Final Fight Revenge is very shitty. Sorry.

Have fun with the SEGA Saturn.

Shinobi Legions is okay..definatly worth having, just don't pay a whole lot for it.

Some extra games I personally recommend:

Megaman X4 (slightly better than the PSX version, but it's hard to tell the difference)
Street Fighter Collection (SSF2 Turbo+ SF Alpha 2)
Xmen vs Street Fighter (the ONLY vs game I like)
KOF Best Collection (KOF 95-97)
The Panzer Dragoon Series

And if you plan on playing any Japanese games (Like..any SNK game) you NEED a 4-in-1 pro action replay. It works as a converter, a RAM cart (used in most SNK fighters), backup memory for the Saturn, and a gameshark type device.

Die Hard Arcade you will like if you liked the arcade. The replay value is low, but first few times through it is sweet and every once in a while thereafter. Quick, mindless bone breaking.
If you have a gaming sibling or a few gaming friends, "Saturn Bomberman" is an absolute must. Too bad though it's pretty expensive nowadays.

Final Fight Revenge doesn't suck, it's just not the greatest.

If your a big final fight, capcom or rolento and sodom fan then get it, I have it and play it every once in awhile, theres a few fun characters to use in it.

get Real Bout! either one- don't matter.
also, Street Fighter Alpha 2 is PERFECTION!
and if you wanna' go real old school, try finding the Capcom Generations 5 disc- it has SF2:world warrior and champion edition and turbo hyperfighting.
anyways, best of luck with your saturn- it's my pick for the 2nd best system ever!!!

Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru just plain kicks ass. Astal is a fun, and colorful platformer. I really like it. Also, Street Fighter Alpha 3 is prestty damn good on the saturn.

KOF Best Collection (KOF 95-97)

Careful with '96. I have an ST Key, and it has been known to gitch with '96.
'95 requires you to have a modded SS or JP SS, because you need the ROM cart contains part of the game. When this ROM cart is in the slot, you can't use a 5-in-1 to play it. Thus, you need the modded SS. (I hope that wasn't too confusing)

'97 is the best of the 3 on the saturn by far. Tight control, even with a pad, great music, and top notch visuals. Go for that one.

I've heard Panzer Saga is great, but I haven't played it yet.

If you can't find Vampire Savior, go for Darkstalker's Revenge. Great game, and only $10 if you look in the right places.

Don't forget In the Hunt. Metal Slug like graphics with an original sub shooter engine. A challenge.

D&D Collection is a must if you're a final fight fan. (And you said you are). It's quite expensive these days, though..

For something different, try Necronomicon (sp?) Pinball.

YOU ABSOLUTLY HAVE TO FIND

SALAMANDER COLLECTION!!!

If you remember Life Force from back in the 8-bit Nintendo days, this is the same game, just arcade quality. Perhaps I'm just coming from the old school with this one, but I remember it being hours upon hours of fun!

Hope that helps,

The mod isn't necessary. There is a work-around. Simply boot the Saturn with the 4-in-1 or 5-in-1 or whatever, then insert the ROM cart to play KoF '95. The ROM check will pass and you can play.

Thanx for all the advice. I'm actually bidding on In the Hunt right now for 3.00. It ends soon, so I'll probably get it.

I got the 5 in 1 today. It only took 48 hours to get here. Finally I can play my jpn Fighter's Megamix. It's not bad actually. Even though it's 3d

Anyone wanna sell me some games?

Later.

Battle Garegga: Amazing shooter! Great graphics, sound and gameplay. However, very expensive to buy on Ebay.

Elevator Action Returns: Love this game. Classic feel with updated graphics and sound. Hard to find also though.

Streetfighter Zero 3: The Saturn version is better then the DC version in my opinion.

Dead or Alive: Great 3d fighter on Saturn. Smooth graphics and framerate. Enjoyed playing it more on Saturn then PS.

Capcom Generations 1 through 5: Compilation of old Capcom classics. Get them all if you can!

Any Capcom fighters from the vs. series to the Darkstalkers series. Dungeons and Dragons collection and Dynasty Warriors 2 etc.

Magical Drop 2, 3. Puzzle Bobble 2,3 for your puzzle gaming pleasures.

Most Neo Geo ports are pretty good on Saturn. Metal Slug is great and Fatal Fury 3, Real Bout, Real Bout Special, Sam Sho 3,4, KOF 95,96,97 are all available on Saturn.

Good luck and enjoy this great system. I still do

Shooters are cool and all, so no offense, but there are better saturn games than just shooter crap.

i mean the saturn shooters are NOT worth the prices, wow i get it, beat it in 20 minutes, and shelve it.

Saturn has amazing fighters like the capcom games and sidescrollers like Tryrush Deppy ect.

The whole shooter thing is over hyped, their definetly not must have games unless your a 100% shooter fanatic nut, cause for the average person their over in 25 minutes, and it's like what the hell.

Yes but shooters have TONS of replay value, as opposed to many RPGs that you just play through and shelve forever. Shooters have a timeless appeal of fast reflexes, massive explosions, great action, and exhilirating challenges against hordes of enemy forces. The shooter as a genre is one of the best, with great replay value and great satisfaction.

Yes there are many good fighters on the Saturn, but in replicating shooters the Saturn is in many ways the equivalent of its arcade big brother, just check out games like Shienryu and you'll see what I mean . . . a masterpiece.
