Well...We've had JAMMA standard for how long? 15 years give or take.

There's not a lot made out of a JAMMA set-up except harness and powersupply.

Do you think we'll ever need a replacement for JAMMA? Are there any major issues with JAMMA or JAMMA+ that could be addressed in a JAMMA2 standard?

I think it's cool that we have a standard that covers so many games and seems to have few weaknesses...at least as far as I know.

There is a new JAMMA standard called JVS that only a few manufacturers have followed.

Really? What games use it? How is it different?

Jamma Standard will never change, it's to mainstream. But certain companies will always make dedicated cabs and boards with a custom pinout, it's been going on for years.

From what I've just read JVS is just a different way of saying JAMMA.

IIRC, JVS = JAMMA Video Standard. Video is output via a VGA cable. Stereo sound is now standard. I/O appears to be done with a USB connector. Sega's NA@MI lineup, Tekken 4 (and the rest of the System 246 titles), and both Fighting Wushus use JVS. American kits for most of these titles come with a JAMMA convertor.
