Why is there so much hatred for NGF?

I am still rather new to this board so I will tread lightly. I have noticed over the last two month or so that there seems to be a lot of hatred toward NFG. I understand that they place stickers on the manual and the cartridges. I understand that a lot of people may have gotten "burned" by them. But my only question is if we (NFG and Neo-Geo.com) both love the same hobby, then why can't we just find a way to do it together. I know I may sound like some bleeding heart, but think about it. What would we be able to do with this system and community if we worked together and stopped bashing one another. Sorry if I brought up a sore subject but I would just like to know the history of this.

Other than getting burned, here are the main complaints: their prices are quite high, there is this thing about converted carts, and sometimes they can come off as arrogent

I dealt with them at CGE and found them not to be nearly as bad as people say they are. Their selection was quite nice, but their prices were too high on many things.

Atariguy, I understand that their prices may be very high, but if there are people willing to pay, then so be it. I am not for NGF, but I still cannot see why we hate them. I see lots of converted carts for sale everywhere (Ebay, here sometimes, NGF). What started it all?

It's not about converting carts, in the past they we're trying to sell them as SNK authentic home carts which they are not,
+ all the scams going on, ................

They will cheat you in any and all ways possible. Their products are rip-offs that they charge insane prices for. They are people selling Neo Roms on eBay.

I have no beef with Dion and Chris Ray. Never met 'em. Probably cool guys, they like the same system I do.

NGF as a company is about as bad as you can get. In my PERSONAL, not hearsay/rumor, in my personal time here and experience I've seen several occurances that qualify as genuinely 'not cool' and would make me avoid any company who practices like that.

1. I'm pretty sure it was Lord Aki, I don't remember who but I do remember this. Dion bid on a Baseball Stars cart from him, when Dion won he game Aki this feedback..something to the effect of:

Great Buyer! For more cool neo stuff visit ngf.com!

First of, Dion was buying the cart, not selling the cart. 2nd if that's not a blatant self-promotion I don't know what is.

2. I too go to NGF for different reasons and I have seen them update old news posts to reflect current events, like upon hearing the release of a game they'll go back and modify a post from 2 months ago mentioning 'a rumor they've heard'.

3. General Bullshit. Just recently with this whole Dion is the savior of the Sigma is pretty much S.O.P. as far as NGF goes and there is always something like this.

Just these three things would make me avoid a company, coupled with the constant barrage of bad publicity they get for stickers and undelivered products (we got one recently) I don't see how one could possibly condone this. He who is quiet, is known to consent.

If there's one person who's all for harmony it's me. I've always fought the losing crusade that we have a whole lot more in common than we have different, but this is the way things are to be.

I have no beef with Chris and Dion, from what I hear they can be okay guys (they can be assholes too, but who's nice all the time??). I will never purchase ANYTHING from NGF because that would signify my support, my approval and would justify their actions.

Yeah I checked out their site and the prices are insane. Who's gonna pay $60 for Art of Fighting?

NGF is nothing more than a

sought after SNK product,purchased this product in bulk at less than
WHOLESALE prices,then took this SNK product and STRIPPED it of it's
authenticity for the sick purpose of trying to gain some FAME! You posed
like you were really affiliated with SNK ONLY to take that authentic
product you stripped of it's authenticity mark it up 200% or more and sell
it to the unsuspecting consumer!
I have to hand it to you though Chris...It's not the ACTUAL PRODUCT that

GREAT NGF USA(a fake affiliate of SNK CORP) was selling a genuine NGF
soldering Iron (WOW!) or what about the NGF WORLD MAT?..Are you still
willing to sell the mat for two thousand dollars to anyone who wants it?

have to PUBLISH your own video games in the name of Neo Geo and we all know
this will never happen!

Hello my name is Michael. I don,t normally post here but now I have to. Frank (Moria/the one) is my fellow neo fanatic and good friend. The whole thing with NGF (Nut Guzzling Fuckers) envoled me also. For the first few months of dealing with NGF Frank and I were splitting the cost of the carts. Now I am going to tell you the real deal. NGF is full of crap.Dion says you were happy before so what is wrong now. Listen Dion peer pressure has nothing to do with getting fucked in the ass by NGF. RB2 was not in good/mint condition when we got it. I don't know what you think but first of all if the insert is made by you it is not mint. Second of all you claim you sent us the game upfront but the situation is more
complicated. We sent NGF $400 for LB2, two months later you talked to us and said that
you could send us RB2 for $250. Yes you said you would send it first and expect our money.
I am not the smartest guy in the world but if we didn't send the money, you had our $400.
Regardless if it was for another game or not if we don't pay then you don't have to send
the other game. You were being sooooo selfless. Thank you ohh great one Dion. Then when we got it (RB2) the sticker was coming off of the cart and it was scracthed up. To be honest we were very happy, two neo newbies getting a cart sure. Right away we notice the insert was wrong you told us that that was normal. Normal for you nut guzzling fuckers but not for a mint SNK cart. We later ignorantly sent you more $ for the ghostly MS3. You said your on the list you will get one for sure. Some time after the release date you convinced us to get some other carts for the money we sent you. Never again did we hear about or get Metal Slug 3. We didn't feel it was a good trade off the games were only average. Some how we still decided to get the new AES from you. Only after your promises of greatness and attemps to make us cream our shorts about the sorry excuse for an AES we got. Ok seriously what in the FUCK makes you think that we made the stuff about the screws? NGF tries to pass it off as being petty but who wants to give Frank three of the screws from their AES? Right, no one does because it is bullshit to have them missing.Exspecially when you pay 500$ Plus you signed the damn bottom! Please Dion tell me why you feel it is needed for you to put you name on the bottom of things? There is no weaseling out of that ask Shawn about his DOA cart so graciously signed by dion also. Will you so be a good NGF and fix the the problem like you did with shawns DOA cart? Do you think that the stuff we pay for is your preschool toy. Really Dion who the FUCK wants your ugly ass signiture on their nice SNK merchandise.
NGF also looks bad with all of the bullshit responses. Often don't answer the problems and suck their own dicks at the same time. If you could answer a problem without having your dicks in your mouths then maybe neofans would have respect for you. We were never
informed we would get NGF inserts in our games I think that is bullshit. So if you would please send us a new nonretarded nonDionized AES case with three screws, the real inserts for NAM 1975, Sengoku, and RB2(and RB2 sticker) that would say something. I won't talk crap about NGF again if you do the HONEST thing and fix the errors NGF has caused. We would gladly send you the Dionized case, the NGF inserts and sticker. Maybe then you can sell them to someone without hiding the truth. To all the other neo fanatics I apologize for my rant. Wouldn't you guys want to know if you had an official insert, or a unofficial fake.
Would you guys be mad and want another AES case if DION sighnd on the bottom? I believe
we should keep our love for neogeo and collecting as bullshit free as possible. If you hear from me another time my name will be Sogetsu-THE ONE.

He told me that he wants to help me with the problems that I had with the crap that they sent.. I think that they should put chris in the lead if they want any customers at ngf. But I am still working out what must be done to make me happy again. Which it will be very hard to do....)

Only because they HAVE to be. Them being nice in person is the only way they can do business anymore because they have screwed over so many people in their customer base.

This of course does not excuse their actions and people who trusted them only left with a bitter tase in their mouths.
