While it may definitely be rehash, i'm still SUPER EXCITED for this game.

I've noticed that a lot lately, but i dunno... fighting games i just can't get enough of, and i ALWAYS wanted to play a KOF style game with Capcom characters in it.

But when you look at it... it REALLY REALLY is rehash... i mean, they didn't really redraw any KOF characters, though they did a splendid job on the capcom ones. The newest characters are obviously drawn, but i dunno... why not give the whole roster a revamp? Either way, that doesn't bother me too much... The engine is pretty similar to that of KOF/SFZ... nothing REVOLUTIONARY. What i DO like a lot though is how they've brought back many old moves for KOF characters like Iori's dp + K move that links into his qcb + P x3 move, for example. Though, that definitely fits under the category of you-know-what.

But... i guess i'm just a sheep... cause i'm still excited. VERY excited, rather.

I dont know if it's just rehash. The videos I saw from insertcredit made the gameplay look pretty fresh. Plus the characters looked a bit bigger than kof (probably just the angle of the camera) and I think the backrounds are awesome. :D

The waiting and saving (scavenging) begins wink

I was super-pumped until the roster was "Finalized(Still hoping for a few secret chars that aren't Evil versions)." Also I am skeptical after seeing the Insert-Credit videos. Seems like they would have been better off just making the whole thing from scratch rather than trying to build off what is basically an extension of the KOF engine. At least Capcom basically made a new engine for CvS1/2. And SNK had something great with MOTM... But I could see there being some major problems with this one for some reason. I just hope it doesn't suffer from the slightly stiff gameplay of KOF.
I am excited for a few things though, it being a 1:1 no team game seems good. Also I thought the super meter sounded good at first, but I am guessing the level 3 exceed(I think that's the name) combos will be relatively unpractical in competitive play and the guard cancel could be highly unbalanced, but in one of the videos it didn't seem like it would be easy to just guard cancel into a big combo on someone because it pushes them back a little. Anyway, I really hope for the best with this one.

cap v SNK had redrawn SNK sprites and
it didnt help the game at all.
i m still not sure how capcom mismatched that
game so bad.. i guess because they just made
a whole hodgepodge of characters and a dumbed down
system.
and then they go all crazy with different modes
in 2 and but still have the gameplay questionable.
i m not really worried about rehashed stuff in SNK v cap.
i m sure they will either throw in a few new
moves or perhaps animation for most of the chara
and how everyone has described it so far it doesnt
look or play at all like a kof game.
more like some kind of surreal
kicky mind trippy game.

It doesn't look like a rehash of anything (besides sprites) right now, so lets keep our fingers crossed.

If it doesn't play like MOTW I'm happy.

I like to dodge or roll. the "just defend" gameplay is ridiculous.

Cancelations ? bah! smirk

personally, I'm still upset that they're calling it 'SNK vs Capcom' considering the character roster it should be called 'King Of Fighters vs Street Fighter'.

that and I'm also pissed that it's not 'Terry vs Ryu', considering Terry's the real main SNK fighting game representative.

but oh well, when has a gaming company ever done anything right?

btw Orpheus, you ever heard the song "Tilt - Seduction Of Orpheus" ? smirk

I have to disagree with the CvS 2 comment.

i thought CvS2 had incredible gameplay... it was basically SFZ w/ a SHITLOAD of different modes and some SNK people... all different kinds of mobility, and a vast array of grooves... the gameplay was SO SOLID... just straight up fighting. and you could even choose team or no team using the ratio system...

I liked the backgrounds... but honestly, who really gives a shit about the backgrounds... the game is way too involved for me to pay attention to that kind of thing.

And in regards to Blanka and others...

Almost NO FIGHTING GAME is balanced perfectly. Why should this be an exception?

K groove is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY too cool...

Iori with a just defend? any SNK characters using the custom combo system or a capcom character with a full on run? the customization is just endless.

That's my take on it, anyway. buttrock

If you make it they will play it. Thats how I feel about it. If you can buy a KOF every year then I don't see anything wrong with this. But then even though people are bitching they will still buy it.
