I don't think I've ever posted any pics of my joysticks or board here, so I figured I might as well.

Joystick:
I used 3/4" particle board I believe (I made these a while ago), buttons and joystick from Happ, and the pause switch is from Radio Shack. There's plexiglass on top as well with a spraypainted design below. I should have put the buttons higher up on the joystick and next time I'll use a different design for when I build my Street Fighter II controllers. Overall, not too bad for my first joystick attempt in my opinion. They also work on the AES system as well.

Board:
Just a mini 1 slot board. I used some Radio Shack small project box and cut holes in the front and sides. DB-15 connectors in front so I can use Neo sticks or the ones I made with it. The side has a Din 8 pin connector to go to my magnavox monitor since I havent finished building my RGB-->NTSC converter as I dont feel like spending $100 to buy one. Other side has a power supply connector for a PC power supply since I had an extra one laying around. There's an audio out connector on the front. I broke my jamma edge connector, so i just soldered everything straight on and then put tape over it to make it look fancier (Can't see in picture).

Hey man thats not to shabby. Thats a nice setup you have there. The custom stick looks nice, though i agree the buttons look like they could be put more towards the top. Im gearing up to build my own custom stick. I still am looking for a suitable enclosure for my supergun though.

How did you break your edge connector? Sucks that that happened.

You say you are building your RGB->NTSC encoder? Im just wondering where you are getting the plans to do this. I'd like to build one for another project i want to do as i dont want to spend another $80 for a jrok (even though they are oh so nice).

Anyway keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing your SF2 custom stick when it is done. Be sure to post some pics.

jhendrix has some brief info on his site about rgb to ntsc
you just need to pick up some chip from analog devices - through a distriburtor or get a free sample (thats how i got mine)
ad724 or ad725 is the chip you need
<a href="http://www.analog.com/Analog_Root/productPage/productHome/0,2121,AD724,00.html" target="_blank">http://www.analog.com/Analog_Root/productPage/productHome/0,2121,AD724,00.html</a>
<a href="http://www.analog.com/Analog_Root/productPage/productHome/0%2C2121%2CAD725%2C00.html" target="_blank">http://www.analog.com/Analog_Root/productPage/productHome/0%2C2121%2CAD725%2C00.html</a>
then you just need to buy a bunch of parts and solder it all together
i just picked up the wrong clock thing for the setup so i need to do some reading and figure out what type to buy
im kinda confused on that part
after i do that itll be easy from there
it should cost $25 at most when i have it done
much cheaper than the $80 jrok
ive just been busy with school so i havent bothered with it lately
the jamma edge connecter i smashed when i was soldering or desoldering or something
i was frustrated so i just smashed it

Cool so you are using JHendrix's instructions. I figured as much as jhendrixs site is really helkpful for supergun related stuff. Anyway good luck on your project. I know once school gets out i will be gearing up to work on a few projects. Oh and thanks for the links.
