1. Super SF2X. The king. Don't fuck with it.
2. Street Fighter Alpha 2
3. SF3:3rd Strike
4. SF2:Hyper Fighting

The worst? Street Fighter III. Talk about years and years and fucking YEARS of anticipation going PFRRRRRRRT in the blink of an eye.

You list street fighter III third strike on your list but then say sf3 was not worth waiting on, So does that mean there is a sf3 and a sf3 3rd strike two differant games?

SF3, SF3 2nd Impact, and SF3 Third Strike are all different games in one way or another. The latter two being improvements on the first. So there are actually three altogether and yes the first one was a bit of a let down. But they made up for it.

My personal fave was the SF2 CE hacked version. AKA - Street Fighter II: Rainbow Edition late 1991-early 1992?

Not sure if anyone else got to play this version, but it rocked. It allowed sonic booms, etc to be thrown in the air, along with the uppercuts, etc. I believe it wasnt created by the programmers of capcom, but rather some programmers in taiwan.

It was really a blast to play. It got so popular that the official "Hyper" edition came out...

Anyone else enjoy this version as much as I did?

I'd love to get my hands on one of those boards...

Wow I just looked on the klov and I had no Idea there were so many street fighters, I knew there were alot.

It looks like everyone has an opinion but from what I gathered I should look for

Street Fighter 2 Turbo "hyper fighting"
Super Street fighter 2 X Grand Master Challenge
AND
Street Fighter 3 Third Strike.

I got into this thinking I would just try to get all the street fighters, Had no idea there were so many and cost so much, Third strike seems to go for two hundred or more on the bay.

Thanks for helping me narrow it down, Any one got any ideas on where to get them besides E-bay for a reasonable price?

1. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (Grand Finale)
2. Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting (Shit it was good, many days spent at the arcade)
3. Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Many long long nights with this one)
4. Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike (Nothing like it and I doubt there ever will be a greater like this one)

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike

I was absolutely floored the first time I ever played this game. Sure I was miffed at only 1 super art pure match, but man the animation was mind boggling! Many people went to the Tekken 3 cab and I went to the SF3 cab. I also remember speak of this was the end of the 2D era and boy how wrong were they. KOF98-2002 anyone? And now we are on the brink of SNK vs Capcom: Chaos, god I can't wait until I have his cart in my hands, and ANOTHER KOF in the makes.

Wow, I'm surprised too_short hasn't descended on this with "NOT NEO RELATED".

Anyway:

1) Street Fighter Alpha 3
2) Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
3) Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo

Okay I have tallied the votes so far

Street Fighter III Third Strike 8 Mentions

Super Street Fighter II X: Grand Master Challenge 4 Mentions

Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting 3 Mentions
but also mentioned were Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter II Rainbow Edition, aren't these very similiar to one another and if you had to choose one which would it be?

Super Street Fighter II Turbo 3 Mention

Street Fighter Alpha I and II each with 1 Mention

Street Fighter Alpha III with 3 mentions

Street Fighter III New Generation 1 Mention
What about the Street Fighter EX series, or the Street Fighter Zero Series. These guys didn't get a mention at all, Guess I do not need to be looking very hard to pick these up.

street fighter ex IS NOT street fighter zero.

zero (jap) <=> alpha (us)

sfex is a TOTALY diffrent game. it's 3D, not 2D, different developer, many different characters. pretty good to, but not spectacular. there is a 'street fighter ex,' sfex+, sfex2, and sfex2+ (i think that's all of 'em). again, the first one is much better in my opinion (i'm a sucker for originals)
