I have one and overall I like it. You can order them with different things though so I don't know how you got yours.

I think there may be a few better options out there but they are hard to find and more expensive from my research.

Other people may be able to tell you better.

I've had a Super Nova for a year and a half and haven't had any real problems from it.

The only "problem" I had was that when I first got it and turned it on, there was a bit too much blue in the color mix. It's easily fixed, all you have to do is pop open the main Super Nova box and turn a nob or 2 and you're done.

Other than that, the joysticks are solidly built and so is the main Nova part where the JAMMA connector is.

I'm pretty pleased with mine, if you can't tell.

Yeah Midway boards have a different refresh rate than most boards.
Normal pcbs are in the 60hz range and Midway uses 53 or something like that.
That is what causes the scrolling on a television.

Oh No

I have NBA JAM, was planning on getting mortal Kombat 1 and 2. Is there anything I can do. Does it matterwhat kind of television I get? Maybe I could get a high definition TV would that make a differance? Or do I Need to get an arcade monitor?

The only problem is the color is really dark and all the midway games are off center on my TV... You can correct the horizontal and vertical with a RGB monitor but not a regular TV set. Still the convenience of playing on the TV & comfy chair is worth it. My TV is a 27 inch zenith from like 5 years ago.- and I've also used the nova on a commodore 1084 monitor using RGB and this way you have the H & V position knobs but unfortunately it is a tiny 13 inch monitor.
For the record the midway games are way off center on my arcade cab as well? The only other problem I experienced was a sync problem (scrolling lines) using the AV out- This was corrected with a High end AV cable and direct connection to the TV- Not using a cheap AV selector. MAS Supernova is TOPS in my book wink
