The Metal Slug series rules.

Never have I cared about getting a high score in a videogame like i do in the Metal Slug series. I mean, trying to beat a level without dying once so you can rescue all of the pow's is something that just never gets old.

The animation is some of the best that I have seen to this day (you just can't beat the smoke effects and the little things like the zombie effects in 3).

The various vehicles are all a blast to play, and quite funny as well.

All of the little details add up to make what I think is the best 2d action series ever.

p.s. Does anyone know a code to make the blood red in any of the Metal Slug games?

If you have an MVS, go into the dipswitch setting, you might find a setting for blood. I would have to check on my Metal Slug to make sure. If you have a AES, I don't know about those...

Changing the region settings only works for part 3. On the others its still white. I havent changed all the dipswitches yet, I guess i'll try that.

Awesome. How difficult is it to put the universal bios onto an mvs board? I am looking into buying a cabinet from arcade infinity and this is definately something I want to do to it.

The shotgun is the only way to go smirk

Yeah, the Metal Slug series is deffinitly one of the better series of games I've ever played. The animation is still amazing, I can't get over how well it looks on this old of an system, compared to todays games.

VERY simple, you basically just pop out the old chip and put the uni bios in.

Good to hear that its a simple process. By the way, I haven't had a chance to play part 4. What are your general impressions of the game?
