What's the low-down on Zupapa?

I'm currently negoatiating a small trade with NGF and he's pushing this AES Zupapa cart. I need some input on it.

Here's the information I have gathered about it. Some of this may be wrong, so anyone who can correct me be my guest... The game was made in 1994 but never released. NGF got the rights to produce and distribute it in 2001; it's actually a NGF exclusive game.

Has anyone played it? What's it like? Is there a demand for it? Why would he (Dion) be pushing it so hard on me? Do people not want it? I know people say that NGF is shady because of things like putting stickers on things, but in this case if it's solely theirs to distribute, it seems like it wouldn't be a bad thing. Any thoughts?

The game was never officially released as an AES cart. It is available as a full MVS kit. What NGF is trying to trade is a converted cart complete with all of that NFG "goodness" that we've come to adore.

A NGF exclusive... haha, thats a joke. It is an MVS game, they are just trying to rip you off... sad really, as it is a decent game, but get the MVS cart for $110 (in the selling forum) and play that instead!

Ok sorry I found the review for it on this website, I hadn't seen it before. So all I really want to know are some things about its production. Is it actualy a converted cart? They make it sound like it was actually produced or something. I mean, you can tell on most of their stuff which ones they converted, but in this case if they did convert it it's a little misleading.

Well I bought the NGM for $160 but they are going for $110-$120 now. I use the Phantom-1 to play on my home system. It plays Kinda like Bubble bobble. It is pretty easy though and does not have a Whole lot of reply IMO. It is fun buy one of those games you finish then may go back to later on. Kinda like Neo Mr. Do ;)

Those NGH's they are selling are conversions though. Wether or not they asked Face if they can make them I am not sure.

I also do not know what kind of stuff you are trading them but if it is Neo related please offer to sell it here first. The last thing we need is more Neo Geo items destroyed by those 2 with stamps, Stickers and whatever else they do to the items.

The reason they are pushing the Zupapa's so hard is because they are cheap for them to make so the trade value vs thier cost I imagine is greatly inflated.

Personaly I would not buy anything from those 2 if they offered them to me for $1 a piece. Becuase in buying items from them you are supporting thier business pratices but as stated before this is IMO.

if you are new to the neo scene though I would recomend something with a little more replay value to it as a game. you can always get conversions later on.

Kaedes - I was thinking about it but I don't really want any KOF games. I guess I should go to that thread and post the things I am looking for.

Anyways I'm trying to trade my Twinkle Star Sprites Cart, which Kaedes was talking about. It's a conversion to begin with, so I doubt they could ruin it, but NGF offered me a lot more than Neostore did for it, and then suddenly he starts asking me why not trade for a Zupapa cart. So I look and the thing is selling for like $350 or something like that and at first I thought it was a deal. Then, I looked into it some more of course and here I am, now most certainly not going to trade for Zupapa because I can simply get the MVS version.

Actually, though, I'm kinda worried about getting ripped off on HERE too. I read a thread about people getting ripped off.

Well that's true I guess everywhere there is the threat of getting Ripped off.

I wonder what NGF was going to do with it actually. I do not seem to recall seeing conversion of released games on thier site for sale ;)

Anyway put a list up of what you are looking for. Actually I was looking for a twinkle star Sprites myself in ROM format. Although my bad habits are giving away my extras so I never seem to have to many extra laying around ;) I do have doubles of some NGM, artbooks, Neo pocket stuff, some neo cd's. only one NGH though which i am in actuallity going to use for a Money puzzle exchanger conversion ;)

NGF zupapa is not even a conversion. It uses the decrypted dump of the game, burned into eproms, allowing the use of a much cheaper sec cart (explaining the old style box)...

Ah, found something that works with a World Heroes 2 Jet eh? I might be up for such a conversion myself.
