Do the games lose value without their original cases? They're in typical CD cases...just not their original.

Just curious,

YES

BTW, some games aren't worth much at all even if you have it complete, just go to eBay and check the prices.

Almost all neo geo cd games are worth very little,no matter how they are, complete or not.

Few titles are worth something, one being Brikinger now on auction from neobomberman.

Jonathan is always too honest,he was asking on his website $180 or so for it-and none asking for it-,now it is on ebay for $200+ and will end for $230++ maybe.

my text did not post :(

When the cd system was still being supported a jewel case was a way to tell if the game was a HK or not. thicker manuals and bad cd graphics were also a giveaway.

Now though the jewel case are not that big of a deal since the games are selling for $10 a piece on common titles. in actuality for the rare ones people can just buy a $10 cd and replace the case. I think the case only applies of the game is still sealed and rare for value. I have ~10 sealed games and all have the Neo geo symbol on them. From Magician lord to KOF 99.

back in the days it used to be games like SSRPG sold new for $45 now they go for $10.

as far as ironclad goes i ended up picking it up earlier this year for $100 from gamechoice club. at the same time Neo cd had put one up on ebay and it sold in the $200 range. So what would be the true value what you can buy it for in asia or what it goes for in auction in the US. Just a hypothical. I do not know what Jonathan got his for but I imaigine he is making a profit on ebay now. I also imagine if the same game was put on Yahoo japan it would go for less.

Just my brian working ;) nobody seems to update the Neo Geo cd price guide anyway.
