For anyone who has played Sengoku 3, how is the game? Are there any features that make it stand out and more replayable than most beat-em-ups? I've heard that the fighting engine is fairly deep, and you can do 19+ hit combos and the like; is this true? I'd like to get the game next week, but I don't know if I want to pay $280+ for a beat-em-up that won't last that long.

Most Neo beat-them-up games have short gameplay and replay value (ex: Burning Fight, Sengoku, Sengoku 2)

If you like long and tough beat-them-up games, try Capcom's Final Fight, Knight of the Round, Aliens vs Predetor, D&D; Irem's Undercover Cop, or Sega's Golden Axe-the death adder, Streets of Rage series........

Well, my favorite beat-em-ups are Final Fight, Streets of Rage 2, and Guardian Heroes.

I missed out on the Neo Geo beat-em-ups; to be honest most of them didn't appeal to me and seemed like pathetic Capcom rip-offs. However I recently went back and played Sengoku 2, and really enjoyed.

I guess what I'm asking is, does Sengoku 3 have more depth than the average beat-em-up?

I already said: short gameplay
It's below average to other beat-them-ups.

But this time you have more characters to select so it might add more replay value

Take a risk and go for it.
It may be the last Neo Geo Home cart game.

It is a very poor game. I wrote a review of it back in March, and thought maybe I was too harsh on it... well I played through it again and I have to say it is one of the most boring beat-em-ups I have ever played. There is 12 bad guys maxs you fight against, none have pallete swaps, just the same guy over and over... Samauri ghost things. There are a few other badies on different boards, but they are really just over used once you see them... The bosses are easy to extremly cheap (the last guy). The game drags on forever, and stops being fun after the first 4 or so boards... I can't get into this game, and I am not going to be spending that kind of money for it... In my book Sengoku 2 was light years better than this... 3 looks great but is a dog... That's my piece on it... if you want to read my full review on the game look at:

Since that was posted before I took over as Review Editor, I think I may post that as a review in the Review Section.
