I got this guy on my toes insisting to buy/trade my mint jp. Viewpoint copy. Problem is I have not really an idea as to how much it`s worth coz you never see anyone offering it. US copies keep popping up in dozens but no jp so it must be somehow rare. Any opinions/commenst? Thanx for your help!

Around 400 $ is a good price for a jap Viewpoint in mint condition.

i didn't make that price up.
Try to find one for less than 375$
not gonna be easy, already considering the rarity of this title.

yes

but if you accept that "rarity+demand" bullshit so openly...

well

then go on,pay 1000$ for maruko chan

whoops...thats what you just did

maruko chan,i was offered one for 300 just a few weeks before THE MADNESS started

then the price guide changed

now maruko is worth 1000

its value rose from 300 to 1000 in two days

suuuuuuuuuuuure

so what you gonna say now

"Try to find one for less than 1000$
not gonna be easy, already considering the rarity of this title"

well......

we gotta fight that attitude

otherwise in a few months time

nam 75 will be worth 300 $

and franlkly

im havin NONE of it

Well said Fran, the price nutters always amaze me.

Price hikes happen when a few people in the scene go looking for a game at the same time, none of them can find it in a couple days, so they freak, and end up in a bid war with each other for the first one they see on eBay, which ends up going for a ton.

Then the next week the game jumps double in price, due to hype and hysteria of it being "rare", hahaha suuuuuuuure.

400 for fucking View point is such a joke, I almost choked laughing.

Dr. Neogeo prices don't reflect the rest of the sane world.

Also it's always these guys from some country in Europe who come up with the craziest prices it seems (I have nothing against europeans)

I would also be happier when the prices didn't go through the roof, the only thing i care about is the games. But if it means digging up 1000$ then so be it, people pay more than that for a US Metal Slug, Ultimate 11 euro, Kizuna, ...

One thing is for sure though, my collection is almost complete and then i dont have to worry about this pricewar anymore.

i paid 350 for motw cos i bought it the day it came out

and trust me

i WASNT happy when all of a sudden that game was worth 700

i was like,WTF !!??

i still need many games to complete "MY COLLECTION"

if the price for maruko will become 6000$

well,to hell with it

i will have a marukochan-less collection

i care about the neo

i care about my games

but hell.......

i know when i gotta say

"fuck it,over me dead body"

but,sadly,
some things, they never seem to change

i cant save the world alone,
let alone change the price guide

I don't defend the price guide at neo.com, I think it's bad for the scene, since they get price data from eBay, crazy nutters in the mountains of europe who want 500 for Nam 75.

Price guides are a bad thing for videogames, their a joke really.

weird, and i thought i helped people out
finding stuff for reasonable prices.

Would i care if the price from Marukochan drops with 700 $ Hell no, good for other people who want it.
And yes i will say fuck it over my dead body,
since i dont need any "rare" games anymore.
Good for other people because there will be
one less player in the field.
Still sad for the people who want to start their collection now, it's nearly impossible to afford it these days.

So what i paid 1000 $ for marukochan?
I was warned by someone that this might get me in a little trouble because other people we're interested in it. Maybe you're one of them Fran? Maybe not? Who knows.
What's the most expensive game you have in your collection?
I seem to be rated here by one purchase only,
what's the next step?
We all have to sacrifice stuff to buy all these games, it all depends how far you're willing to go, and for me right now that means not far at all. Chibi was the last one.
from now on all 50 $ carts, so no jacking up the price there yet.

and no,
i dont care about maruko chan

not particularly

you're about to enter neo heaven and we're still here, struggling and battling over the rare carts

Fran, do you really think all my games are in mint condition ? I have some mint yes that's true, but most of them show the signs of normal played carts. Playing these games is still my first priority, it's useless to spend this kind of money for dustcollectors.
Unlike Dr Neo Geo my carts aren't bagged and behind glass, just the usual wooden shelfs.
But make no mistake, it's not only the neo geo that has it's inflated prices, look at so many other consoles, they all have their "rare" outragously overpriced games.
How come you paid 350$ for MOTW ? i only paid 268 $ upon release. As far as MOTW, the recent pricedrop might be a omen for all the
other carts, the price can't keep rising all the time. At first it will level out and probably followed be a decrease in price,
after the Neo Boom is over. Which is after all good for the gamers, and a disaster for the collectors who see this as some kind of investment.

Dont worry about it kyokugen, pricing is a sensitive subject on these forums.
As far as your Viewpoint is concerned, yes it's rarer than the english version and it's more expensive in the current market.
But i wouldn't sell it if i was you, Viewpoint is a kick ass shoot-em up.

Just to point out:

CHIBI QUIZ DELUXE is the rarest neogeo JAP home cart.

That's a fact.

And yes,worth a lot.
Way more than Metal slug 1,talking about rarity.

I have the JPN, US, and NGF versions. They cost me $100, $120, and $90 respectively.

Well, this statement makes me REALLY unhappy!!! The American Shops have the HIGHEST prices on the net!!! And if you look at the prices of games on E-bay... Woah!!! Go sheck the prices of Neo-AYATO in France (which is the most expensive shop in France) and you will see a SLIGHT difference with the prices of your online shops.
The price guide of this forum doesn't represent anything, it's just an excuse for resellers to sell at insane prices...

KEEP IT!
or you'll regret it (it's really very rare).
Anyway if you want to sell, i'd say 300/350...

Thanks Last Resort and Brandi! I just got in US Viewpoint and since I`m more a collector of US carts I thought about selling the jp. version. But when regarding your comments and the fact that I have been owning and caressing it for 4 years already now I will keep it.
