Dammit, I was offered a kit of this game about 20 minutes after I bid. Its my new ID, and I don't want to retract. My max bid is only 75.00. Anyone want a Turfmasters MVS cart?

For a bare cart? That's crazy. You can get it for less than that.

Everywhere I looked has been out of stock. MDgame sales, the Neo Store, NCS, everyone selling in the selling forum, eBay was my last bastion of hope.

I'm sure as hell not buying from Aslan. I want my games to work.

quite true.

I guess I should be thankful that I have the game already.

Just buy both and sell one. If you list the cart on ebay with a BIN for $75.00 you will probably get it back within a day.

Yeah, but I was just hoping to not have to deal with it. It's still got 2 days, I'll probably loose it anyway.

What's wrong with retracting a bid? If eBay didn't want you to be able to do it, they wouldn't have it as an option. It doesn't stay permanent on your recond man...

If you signed up after some point in time, it does stay on your record. Let's take this chap's feedback record for example: http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=ace-avalon

No bid retractions, but there is a listing for them. And it seems that under particular circumstances, you can't retract anymore, but this is an extreme case. http://pages.ebay.com/help/buyerguide/bidding-retract.html

It does stay permanently on your record. It is shown in your feedback, although it does not state what item you bid on, only the number of time you have retracted a bid in the last 7 days, month, 6 months.

The longer you left it though the worse it gets. I have had people bid high in the past only to retract the bid with about a day to go. This causes the item to be sold for a less amount than it would probably have gone for as you have lost bidders who may have looked at the auction and decided the amount was too much.

As a result i actually reported them to Ebay and got them suspended. These circumstances were where someone had bid 5 days early and then retracted the bid 12 hours before the auction end. I think that this cost me about £50! You have to look at it from the seller point of view as well.

Better to bite the bullet, hope you get outbid, and if you win resell later.
