looking at Arcade infinity's wide verity of Neo cabs can be a little intimidating. So i ask you

Out of the 29" neo cabs they sell what are the main differences between them?

oh and who on this board owns what cabs? and do you like the cab you own? what dont you like about it? how is the 2 playability?

thanks alot

Hello,

I own two MVS 25" cabinets. I purchased them both from Arcade Infinity in LA. I really enjoy playing them a lot. They both have 4-slot JAP motherboards.

I also brought my cab from Arcade Infinity. I have a Super Neo 29 Candy with a 4-slot mvs board.I'm pretty happy with it. Shipping it to NY was expensive though. :(

Actually they are $425, all you need is the cab, then either a 1, 2, or 4 slot motherboard. I think a 1 slot will only run you about 100$, I could be wrong though. I think its best to go the whole nine yards and just save a little more and get the 4 slot though, much more conveinent.

I own a sc-19 , I bought mine from Jeff at arcade-infinity.

I love it , its a very high quality Cabinet and it was very reasonable at $235.00

It is the one next to this 29 with the blue hood.

Yeah, I like the cabinets a lot. I think they are very comfortable when playing together with my wife. I feel that it is all preference though. Jeff has lots of candy cabinets from time to time. I got mine for $260.00 each and it was about another $250.00 to ship them both to Fremont.

To my knowlege the type II has some type of photo taking thing (thats why there is a black lense in the shape of a rectangle at the top) this feature is completley useless and not worth the extra 200$ for the cab, chances are you will never use it here in the USA.

actually that black thing is a 10' lcd display.

That is a Hyper 64 cabinet

It does have a camera mounted on the top and when hooked to another cab { and only then } it will display your opponents face on it.

I have also heard it displays the mini marque there when playing a game, Hyper only of course.

I have a Super Neo 29" & love it. Remember the super Neo 29 has the 4 slot marquee for minis, the super 29 Neo candy does not, otherwise they are identical.

The Type II is similar, though only has player 1 controls (not 2). The LCD screen can either a) show the face of the player via the camera or b)display the game IN PLAY that the player is playing, it doesnt display a marquee......

Candy advantages: easier to move (has wheels & rolls like on a dolly), bigger screen, sturdy controls, takes up less space, high quality RGB (better than most US cabs IMO)

Disadvantages: 2P can be cramped depending on tastes, not able to stand, though you can place the unit on a pedestal to make it stand-up, if monitor ever blows, a 29" replacement monitor is next to impossible to fin without forking out $$$$$$ for a whole other cab (27" & 25" monitors are much more common)

We're talking tastes here, I like candies cause they are such a novelty here in the US, different......

That is the same reason why I would go with candy if I ever when MVS, I love the different look to them, while the big red brings back memories sometimes newer is better. :)

I have a Super Neo 29 and I think that the thing is tops :) . Very sturdy feel and a beautiful thing. I don't play much two player so I really can't comment on that too much. I played a little 2P with Wolf and that seemed fine with me. Candy cabs do look so nice too :) .

I have a question... can I put a 4-slot MVS into the thing? Do I just plug it right into the jamma harness or does it require re-tooling or anything like that? Briggs... please help .

Thas as big of a candy cab that you are going to get, if you think it is too small, then get one of the old red US cabs that you stand up to play.

I have 3 Astro City machines, Girlfriend has 1 Astro City.

One of mine is set with a puny MVS slot 1, girlfriends is pretty much MVS -all- the time.

Great Machines if you can get your hands on them. www.tessin.co.jp was doing a special on refurbished machines (around $120 per machine!) so it would have been rude not to pick them up!
