Attention: Austin, TX Area

I know there is a KOF 2001 Tournament this Saturday in Austin, unfortunately, I won't be able to attend. However, I'm having a Poker Night [we don't just play Poker.. see below] on 05/18/02. And since I just got a new MVS Cabinet, it'd be cool to meet other SNK fans in the area.

I play competitive Quake3 for the clan *69. Check out our web page: <a href="http://www.shackes.com/s69" target="_blank">*69 Web Site</a> <- Picture of me there in the members section! and several of my clanmates live in the Austin Area so we get together from time to time to LAN, play poker and console games, drink, eat, talk, bullshit, watch weird videos, etc. I call it Poker Night, but it's just really Q3/Game Enthusiasts [and my gf's friends] getting together for about 12/24 hours. Most people arrive on Saturday evening and some leave as late as Sunday evening [I have a guest room and a couple of coaches and lots of blankets. ]

Who's Invited: My Q3 buddies, SNK fans, and my girlfriend's friends [i.e. girls]. If you're an introvert or a big geek with a self-confidence problem, you might not wanna come. If you wanna have FUN, by all means come by and bring your friends.

Where: My Place just north of Austin [Round Rock, TX]

When: Sat May 18th thru Sun May 19th.

Why: To have a shitload of fun, eat, drink, play games, and be merry.

What to bring: Yourself. Optional stuff include a computer [if you play Q3], money [for poker], your favorite MVS games (for my cabinet), weird-ass DVDs, beer [I like Tecate/Dos Equis Lager in cans], liquor, sodas, snacks, girls, whatever. You don't have to drink, but it doesn't hurt. Drunk gaming is fun!

Man, that sounds like a blast. I might be in Austin that weekend for a friends graduation from UT. I'd love to swing by. I'll email you with more info if I am going to be up there.

Like a baby, baby? A real infant? Or like Baby as in your significant other?

If it's your significat other, then sure, by all means.

If it's your infant, I'm not sure you'd want to subject it to a house full of (possibly drunken) weirdos. Although... my fiance and her friends would probably love it as she loves babies. (BTW, I got engaged this Saturday, so she's been upgraded to fiance status.)

For those that couldn't make it, here's a summary of what you missed:

-15 or so gamers of all types
-6 Large Pizzas (not to mention snacks)
-1 Dance Dance Revolution outbreak
-1 Poker Game (I made a couple of bucks!)
-6 LANned computers for Quake3
-2 arcade machines (one MVS and a SF2Turbo).
-Well over 30 SNK games (MVS and AES) including KOF 2001 and a rare converted Strikers.
-Lots and lots of fun!

I'll probably hold another get together in a month of so.
