Is there slowdown in NEO GEO games?

I've not yet enjoyed the entire NEO library as of yet, I've played about 20 games probably. One thing about the games that I have played that I like is the non-existence of slowdown. I was just wondering if there are any NEO games that suffer from slowdown?

Was SNK able to make games without slowdown because of the massive storage capabilities of the carts?

Also, could games that were notoriously 'slow' on other platforms, for example Super Castlevania IV, have been made lets say 'not slow' with the addition of a few more megs of space at the developers disposal?

yeah, tons of slowdown, especially with shooters like Viewpoint.

'Slowdown' is not an issue of space on the cart but one of programing skill.

fatal fury 2 has a little slowdown on jubei's stage where if you both go through the blinds at the same time it slows right down but only for a couple of seconds.

...and if the hardware can actually handle what you want it to do. There is a certain balance.

96 slows down if you play on the ikaris stage
to a crawl if you got a big man like chang!
97 slows down sometimes too.

Twinkle Star Sprites also has slowdown, but I think that one's actually intentional because the slowdown doesn't look natural.

For example, slowdowns happen if more sprites are on screen than the code can handle. Particularly Metal Slug 2 has this problem, specially in 2P mode, possibliy due to a lack of programming skills, because Metal Slug x (the sequel to MS2) has much less slowmo stuff, while featuring even more sprites and new enemies.

Shock Troopers 2 also has some slowdown issues, and a couple of shooters, too (Sonic Wings 2).

However, slowdowns are no general problem of Neo games.

Last Resort is another title to note for slowdown. Thing is, the slowdown in Last Resort actually comes in real handy when the screen literally gets filled with bullets at times.

I wouldn't say 'lack of programming skills', rather 'lack of GIGA POWER'...
