I was at a funcoland recently, and I ran into a guy that was talking about Neo Geo with the cashier. I don't know if he had a Neo or not, but it was interesting to see someone out there that does. I mean, how often do you see someone who has a Neo other than on the internet? Rarely, if ever.

I grew up "privilaged" especially in the late 80s and early 90s and I had quite a few "privilaged" friends that had them.

Yeah, back when I had my first cart system I used to buy used Neo games from Funcoland.

Ah... those were the days... <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

But, to answer the question, no. I've run into people that have heard of the Neo, or have "friends" that own one, but outside of the net I've never known anyone else that has one.

I ran into a guy shopping in an Electronics Boutique about a year ago who was talking to his girlfriend about how this dreamcast controller reminded him of his neogeo controller... so i had to talk to him about it, he said he still had his system but sold every game except last blade 2: wasn't into it so much anymore.
it was weird: most people, even those working in game stores, don't really know about the neo.

Hey:

Nope. Hell, I've never even gone up against another human being on an MVS cab.

I think if I ever did run into a stranger who owned an AES, it would be a great expierience, one of those moments where you look at each other, scream "Holy shit!", and hug.

I've worn my Neo Geo and Turbo Grafx 16 shirts all the time to try to find an ally.

No one has ever commented.

I'm doin computer and videogames at my uni course, so there is ONE guy who has a neo CD. Plus another who used to own an AES. And a few more with NGPCs.

Including myself and my MVS, thats pretty good going for just over 20 people.

I live in pittsburgh, and we all own NeoGeo AES machines (yes, everyone in pittsburgh). I'm surprised no one knows about this. Espcially Blaine (he's probably antisocial). After a good steelers victory, we all go to our respectful homes and play KoF 94. We've managed to play a lot more KoF 94 this year, thanks to a better steelers team.

honestly though, I've met a lot of people with Neo Geo machines. 1 guy with both an AES and a neo cd, a guy with just a neo CD, and a guy with an AES. When I was 17, I met a 11 year old whose mom bought him a NeoGeo and a bunch of junk games for $300 - I was freaking jealous (this was in Brooklyn, NY, so I figure the kid's mom was a mafiosa).

I'm still not quite sure how they're winning with Kordell in the captain's chair, Bus only having really one good game, and Plaxico as good as dead.

It's because Pittsburgh is the black and gold, and the giga power pro-gear spec is strong within us.
