Hi! I've been a video game fan for quite a while now. (Since 1986)One of the most memorable times was when Street Fighter II hit the arcades. Then SFII CE. But one day, as I was going to play SFIICE for the 500th time, I there was this huge crowd gathering at the other side of the arcade. I couldn't see anything. As I slowly fought my way towards this new game, all I heard was fighting sounds. And then as I finaly squeezed in to get a glimpse of this new game,I see a man in black shorts getting his head ripped off by another man wearing a blue ninja outfit.(By now you should know what game this is) And that's were it all began. My addiction to Mortal Kombat.I played that game for hours feeding quarters left and right to this machine. Of course a year or so later, MKII was released. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, IT DID.I got so hooked on MKII, I tried learning all of the character's moves, combos, fatalities, etc.(-Nostalgic flashback to me placing quarter on top of arcade control panel in front of monitor awaiting my turn.-) I will never forget that moment in time...Afterwards I got into the rest of the SF series.(SFIITurbo, SSFII, SFA,II,III,etc)Another game I REALLY got into was Killer Instinct. It's graphics, combo-link system, and sound were superb for it's time. On occasion I would play Neo Geo titles, (AOF,AOF2,Fatal Fury 1,2) but never really got around to getting very into them.
(Not because they weren't good, but more because I was pre-occupied with all of the other mentioned games) Then came Samurai Showdown...What else can I say, it completely blew me away. That's when I started paying attention to Neo Geo.I was so into that game, I wanted to buy a Neo Geo home system, but unfortunently was unable to at the time due to financial reasons. Ever since SS, I've been playing Neo Geo titles as often as I could,(there weren't many in my area) playing games like KOF,94,95,BAM2,Metal Slug,World Heroes, etc.)I got KOF 95 on PSX, but it had bad load times. That was the last SNK/PSX conversion I bought.

Cut to 10-01-01:
About four years had passed that I had not played any Neo Geo games. Since I never really heard much about it in mags, www, etc. I assumed it was long and gone. Then I stumbled upon this site....WOW! I had no idea how very wrong I was. As I'm going through this site, I'm slowly regaining that old "feeling" I once had...I then find out how inexpensive it is to have your own arcade setup at home and how cheap MVS games are. I was stunned. I search through ebay and find hundreds of titles being auctioned at amazingly low prices. Then I found it...(Super Neo 29 Cabinet) I just couldn't resist anymore. I knew that now was the time to re kindle those forgotten feelings once again... And now I can. I just picked up my Super Neo 29 Cabinet two days ago for Jeff and Jack Tao. I got it for $430 (In mint condition, just a couple of minor scratches here and there) I got a 1-slot for $120, and 6 MVS games for $80 (Samurai Showdown I,II,III, Last Blade, KOF94,and Real Bout FF2. I couldn't be any happier! Now the hunt for MKII JAMMA PCB begins...

Welcome JB. It's great to have that "old feeling" again eh? (not in terms of age, but in terms of gaming memories)

It's a great feeling when you realize the Neo Geo is still alive. I had my own rediscovery back in late '98... Haven't been the same since!

Welcome!

I know what you're talking about...I'll never forget how amazed I was when I heard the Neo was still kicking. I eventually bought a Neo in late '98, and ordered KoF'98 from SNK-USA. Up until then, the last KoF game I had played was '96 (only one play in an arcade several hours from my house )

The only KoF experience available was through my PS and KoF'95. It was OK, but I knew it couldn't compete with the real thing. But then I plugged that Neo in, put on my headphones and shooooooooossssshhhh

No more Tomb Raiders, no more Crash Bandicoots, These were the kind of games I loved. I haven't looked back since, and by the sounds of things, I doubt you will!

Have fun!

Does JBPro stand for anything in particular? Just curious where the name came from. Initials, or is it a game referrence?
