what next gen system do you plan to get if you plan to get one

Im currently planning to get gamecube. I might at the last minute change and get ps2 (cause of square) so what system do you guys plan to get?

I don't plan on getting one, not atleast until I see some really solid games. Until then I'll stock up on AES carts and CPS2 games for my Super Nova. The arcade scene is the greatest.

And honestlyPunisher I would hold off on a PS2, I've got one and I NEVER play the thing. In fact it's over at my girlfriends place, right now it's a pretty worthless system. Of course IMO. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

For real games, I want GameCube, but I plan to get XBox as well. I'm in the market of combo DVD player/game system and PS2 is out of question due to quality of the player.

Got a PS2 and Dreamcast already. No plans to buy any other systems this Christmas, but once I see some must-have titles for either the GC or Xbox, I'll pick 'em up.

Well, I'd LIKE to get a Game Cube and all 3 games at launch if possible, that is, if the systems aren't all bought up by eBay prospecting scum who have camped out in front of the store 48 hours in advance. I'm going to take a stab at pre-ordering one on the 15th at a nearby EB. If I can't even succeed in doing that, I'll probably just forget about it until the holiday season (and all the mania it entails) has passed.

Just got a PS2,since there are a few games coming up that I want to get.

The Nintendo Gamecube is a must buy for me.

The X-Box I will take a "wait and see" approach.

Dude, there is nothing at launch for GC that is worth putting the money down for the system. Nor is there anything that looks to be coming out in the future that is really worth buying. Cel-da, is disappointing to say the least. Mario looks promising, but I mean it looks like Mario 64 on crack graphics. As far as the Xbox goes I don’t see much. DOA3 looks cool, but I’m sorry, if I want to play some deep fighters that’s what I have my Neo, DC and PS2 for. I don’t need to drop $300+ on a n Xbox for Halo because face it you can’t play a FPS w/o a mouse and keyboard.
I know it’s not a popular notion around here, but I say go with the PS2. Nothing has better games coming out. Onimusha, Devil May Cry, Guilty Gear X, Capcom vs. SNK 2, FFX, Xenosaga, MGS2, and a ton more games. You don’t have to add a crap load of cash to get DVD playback, that is pretty damn good for an average player. I mean you expect the output of a $500 DVD player from a $300 game system that has DVD playback as a bonus feature.
The PS2 is just the way to go to get all the best games. I don’t care if it’s “mainstream” and the favored win, it friggin rocks.

I'm going with Xbox, with the exception of Resident Evil there doesn't seem to be a worthwhile videogame series that isn't coming out for the system. I mean hell, it's even getting Metal Gear Solid.
Also from a technical point of view the Xbox absolutely kills both the Ps2, and the Gamecube. I played a japanese Gamecube and to say the least I didnt like it, I got my hands on Super Monkey Ball, Luigi's Mansion, and WaveRace; of which the only fun game was Monkey Ball, and that falls into the "party game" genre, something I wouldnt buy on my own. I would just rent it. The controller really sucked as well, it was extremely comfortable, but the buttons were positioned too damn close, when I played WaveRace I keep hitting brake when I would push gas in during a tense moment. In fact I kept going, stopping, going all because of the button layout.
And to say the least, Nintendo's lineup looks god awful.

I own a PS2, I plan on getting the gamecube next year when prices go down and tons of games have been released. I may also get a X-Box when there prices go down; I love the looks of Raw-Is-War!

I've played Luigi,s on the import gamecube it seems pretty fun to play. I'm still not sure if I like that controller yet though.

I thought the deal was ok. At first I was going to buy it at Amazon.com, buy sadly they are sold out.

gamecube, i already got a dvd and cd player....dont want to waste money on another one...and there is plenty that is coming the first month or two that i will pick up...gcn will have just as many if not more good games then ps2 will by the end of the year....

ps2, what a crap load...im glad i sold it while it was worth something....and shut up about zelda, just cause of cell shading, dont even know how it plays....OMG! MGS has jaggies, what a shitty game, FFX has jaggies what shit, and voicing! square ALWAYS screws that up....ggx? CvS2? my god! i dont already have those on dc?! and better versions i might add...onimusha=xbox...i think gets my point across....play it, then judge it, until then, shut up....stop whinning, if you by a console for a company, your an idiot, buy it for games you like, games i like are coming to gcn, so ill buy a gcn....

XBOX. I just can't describe how much ass halo kicks. This is one game I will definatly not miss. Also, MAME is going to be on xbox and it would be really nice to play Metal Slug on a 52 inch bigscreen.

Plus I really like project gotham racing and as we all know, the neo-geo doesn't exatly do racing games...

I'd like to get a PS2 for Devil May Cry, MGS2, Time Crisis II, Vampire Night, and especially Police 911, but we'll see. I'd like to see a price drop first.

Gamecube just doesn't offer anything beyond Super Monkey Ball right now. That will change next year when Sega brings out its big guns and puts the cool games on the GC.

X-box.. Well, DoA3 looks good, but everything else just doesn't capture my interest at all. I am also not a big fan of Microsoft. It will take a new version of Genesis Shadowrun to get me to buy this system.

I plan on stocking up on MVS, GBA games in the meantime.
