What is the purpose of memory card for home system?

Does it save your high scores? And how exactly do you use it?

I found one but I dont know how to access it from any game. Could be defective or I'm just stupid.

It simply saves your current level-sadly,no scores.
You should be asked automatically if you want to save after you've run out of credits or let the time to continue run out.
It also asks you by itself if it shall load if there is a save for the current game.
To access all save data,keep all 4 buttons on your pad pushed and press the reset button.

If it's a new card, you have to format it before you can use it.

Hey, Being sure it doesn't saves high-scores in AES mode, is it able to save scores to the Memcard in MVS mode with a debbug Bios ??

My guess is no, perhaps only MVS boards have an internal ram just for High-scores. annoyed

you also have to make sure it's pushed all the way in glee . i kept playing SS2 over and over again from the very beginning cuz i didn't have the card pushed in all the way oh_no

Same as he said above, hold all four buttons and press reset. It'll give you a menu, I believe selection 3 or 4 is the format selection.

In Metal Slug 4 you actually can save the artworks after finishing the game with a character... Nice thing!
