Pretty bad IMHO. :(
I was actually waiting for the NEO-CD to arrive before i got mine, but when i saw the times-i went for the cart system.
The older titles,(where the whole game s loaded in one go at the beginning) are ok,but i hated playing the (newer)fighting games on that thing.
You are as long waiting as you are playing...
And the CDZ didn't really make a change.
That and some missing background sounds(In SS1) killed the machine for me.
It has it's fans here, though, and there is also the 'price' issue... smirk

Sam Sho 1 on CD was a disappointment. Genan's stage is missing the crackle of the fires. Tam Tam's stage is missing the rush of the water. Two stages that I really loves, and hate on CD.

Do yourself a favor, just buy a Phantom 1 converter, and forget the CD system. The games are almost as cheap, and remain pure to their original design. buttrock

That's just what I was about to say.

I bought mine for the old games and for the remixed soundtracks...and it works great for that. nothing like playing a ms1 that you got for 90$ compared to 300$ phantom + 200$ homesystem + 50$ mvs cart buttrock

If you want the newer games, then buy a mvs setup or ngh system

I'm happy with my CDZ. The load times aren't as bad as some make them out to be. The Neo CD is still a good system, no matter what some might say.

I kind of like the novelty of the CD system myself. The Load times are horendous for games like KOF or LB and the missing animations, voices in some instances, and missing background effects and such are a HUGE dissappointment to me in many of the games. What I do find the CD system usefull for are games like Metal Slug, any shooter, or any puzzle game. I bought my AES strickly for Fighting games and I plan on getting a Neo CD in the near future for all the other games. I dont have the money to plop down on any old game for the Neo. If I spend upwards of 150 on a video game it will be a fighting game because I get the most play out of them. All other neo games can suffer the load times. I like the monkey too :-)

Just skip all the more recent fighting games and you'll be fine.I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again, older titles rock on the NGCD!No load times! buttrock buttrock
