Hello. I am new to the NEO GEO scene. I have been wanting an AES system since I was in 8th grade. I just recently purchased one on e-bay. Maybe I am just being nostalgic but I miss the days of 2D graphics. The new game systems that are out now look great but there is something missing in the gameplay. I am looking forward to this experience.

Right now I have FATAL FURY, TOP PLAYERS GOLF, SENGOKU, GHOST PILOTS, NINJA COMBAT, NAM 1975, MAGICIAN LORD, SUPER BASEBALL, SOCCER BRAWL,and KOF 2002. My next purchase will be Rage of the Dragon, Metal slug 3 or Sengoku 3.

I have really enjoyed MAGICIAN LORD, SUPER BASEBALL, SENGOKU, NAM 1975, KOF 2002 and GHOST PILOTS. I have not yet played SOCCER BRAWL.

Welcome! Not only to the boards, but to a life long obsession. Nice games to start your collection off with. May I recomend Fatal Fury Special? The best classic 2D fighter imo. drool_2

I was looking into getting Rage of the Dragons but it looks like there are mixed reviews.

Is it worth $300+?

Looks like the NEOSTORE is almost out of them.

I had that game for the SEGA CD. I loved it.

Probably not. You might want to hold off for a while and focus on getting cheaper games instead. Might I suggest the following:

Fatal Fury Special (as mentioned earlier)
Samurai Shodown II
King Of Fighters '98
Super Sidekicks 2 (another great soccer game)
League Bowling
Baseball Stars 2

If you look hard enough, you can probably rope in all of these games for the price of one ROTD AES cart.

I really want to get LEAGUE BOWLING. Is it worth some of the high prices I see for it.

I have seen it go for about $60-$90. i have seen it cheaper but it was for the cart only.

I think anything below$60 may be a fair price,but $90 is absurd.There are many different versions game,though.Don't ask me what they are,but I heard some are worth alot more than others.Your best bet is the US version.I've seen one for$35 not too long ago at a local video game shop.
