I've heard that the DC version is the best one, so don't bother spending the money on the homecart unless you really want an over-priced collector's item.

As for the price, I was thinking about selling my homecart a few weeks ago and got offers of $700... so it must still be holding it's price. It's a great game, but it's not worth that much. Then again, I didn't sell it.....

Yes, TSS is a very good game. I would tell you that the Neo version is worth 700+ it's such a fun game to play VS or in Story Mode, graphics are great and very cute. I never played the DC version but considering the quality of Neo ports on DC I would say it's about the same as Neo version! Good luck finding a TSS for sale, the last one I saw was in the NeoStore and I think it sold for more then 800$!

HaHaHa, didn't sell it huh?? Could you tell me how you came about owning your copy!?

$700, $800, $1000 for a game is definately outta my league. But, to own the AES version would be my "crown jewel" of my game collection. Right now SSIV & LB2 share that title thx to Johnathan!!!

I got my copy off of Laurent at neoayato, where I get most of my ng stuff. It's definitely the crown jewel in my collection, which makes me happy and sickens me a little at the same time. I mean, it's an expensive waste of money for what amounts to nothing more than a trophy... but I do play it so it's not a complete waste. I can't bring myself to get rid of it though. I think I've got Charlie's (EW) disease....

Maybe I'll do what he's doing now and trim my collection. Right now I just don't have the strength in me though :) .

But if you go in knowing that it's just a trophy you'll be fine. It's got nice artwork and it certainly is a great collecible that you don't see too often. Just don't buy it cause you're looking for something to play... if that's the case get the DC or Saturn version (which you already have). I can't even really recommend the MVS version as even that is expensive and lacks the extras of the DC or Saturn one (I think the Saturn one has extras, right???).

Yeah, TSS is an ACE game one one of the best on the system. Period.

Is the NGH price on this game still $700???

Yep. Even more sometimes, depening on conditions and periodical rareness increase/decrease.

Is having the DC version good enough or should I get a part-time job for the NGH version?

Hard to say.

The DC port is almost a perfect port, please know that.

To have the ORIGINAL ngh cart is more likely a matter of feticism. Indeed my cup of tea. :)

Yet, as for mere 'gaming experience', I reccomend the SegaSaturn version: a brand-new extra character, a new mode, graphical additions, full speech dialogues, and a vwhole second disc full of extra are good reason to love that unique port.

As for me, I've avoided the problem just by buying all the 3 versions actually! :D buttrock

I say the Neo-Geo version is best for the simple reason that you can play it in English. Story mode in ADK-glish adds more than you can imagine to a whacky game already addictive like crack.

Apart from the anime intro I did not really enjoy the Saturn version and sold it not too long after I acquired it last year. The second disc of bonus stuff was nothing too exciting either from what I recall.

Never played it on Dreamcast myself so can't offer any comparisons there.

I have all 3 versions: DC, Saturn and Home Cart.

I highly recommend all of them! :) The Saturn version has an extra art omake disc, it is pretty neat. And no slow down a la DC version.

Not sure if the translation is the same, but the Dreamcast port has translated dialogue as well. There's even a language option... so you can play it in English or Japanese. :)

I'm all about owning this on Neo-Geo eventually. But MVS is another matter and that's all I'm interested in. You could consider doing a conversion. The going price warrants doing so.

Otherwise, the DC version should do just fine. Me and my friends play it quite regularly. It just never gets old.

The Saturn and DC versions are big improvements on the NG one. I owned the NG one for a while and I sold it because the Saturn version was all that and more. Better sound, more options, added character, high score saving, bonus art disc.

Thx EVERYONE for your thoughts & replies. I'll go hunt down the Saturn version for now. IF I do ever get a part-time job, it'll definately be in part for the NGH version. Until then, the DC/SS will have to be smoked, errr, I mean played ALOT!!

Why are people saying $700 for it? I got a home cart of it off ebay for $300 back in June.... It wasn't in perfect shape and had no manual or anything, but it worked. Is $700 for a particular version?

Dude, if you have the DC one, you're set. Trust me. Perfect port, but also has has options for NO SLOWDOWN.

Very important if you ask me.

Exactly. The DC version is excellent and cannot be improved, period.

You get to choose between the original (crappy) sound or an arranged, hi-quality version. You can choose the language. You can choose the difficulty. And you can choose the amount of slowdown you will get (No slowdown-DC version or HIDEOUS SLOWDOWN-NGH VERSION). So how could that be possibly improved?. It can't. It is obvious that, like Shito said, the NGH version has value as a collectible, as a source of fetichist pleasure. But as a game, the DC version OWNS THE AES own, period. That just cannot be refuted.

Collectors will always pay more (alot more) for complete cartridge in very good to near mint condition. I think the fact that it doesn't have a manual = lot less people bidding.

$300 is a good price regardless.

I have both the MVS and Dreamcast version. With the DC version just before the normal MVS intro there is a 3d rotating star with some text. Does this appear in the AES version, or just on the DC?

Anyone know where to download a rom of this? I want to take some screenshots, but haven't been able to find one.
