I think you're confused....

There is only one Kof '98. I think it was called Kof '98: The Slugfest and may have had another subtitle saying dreamatch or something like that. Anyway.... there can be only one :) .

Unless you are referring to a Dreamcast version or something like that... which I have no expertise in.

Yes, the Dreamcast version of KOF98 is called Dreamatch.

The dream match is
KOF Dream Match 99
for dreamcast. This is
the port of KOF98, but was
released in 99 for DC, so
that's why 99 is in the title,
KOF 98 The Slugfest is the original
game for the neo.

KOF 99 Dream Match is the DC version of KOF 98 which was subtitled The Slugfest if that isn't confusing enough...then also on DC they had KOF Evolution which didn't actually have a year put to it, but it's a version of KOF 99. As far as DC games go Evolution is much better than Dream Match.

Guyz, you really never learn, huh?

NeoGeo Original Release (Japanese):
The King of Fighters '98 ~The Dream Match Never ends~

NeoGeo Western Release (US/EURO):
The King of Fighters '98 ~The Slugfest~

Dreamcast converions of the above:
The King Of Fighters - Dream Match 1999

And here is the deal.

Easy. Slugfest shows in the title when you are playing on a US system. Dream Match shows in the title when you are playing on a Japanese system. It is the same game. Kind of like Karnov's Revenge-Fighters History Dynamite.

Ah.. obviously you didn't quite understand. Neo AES games are released in two different flavors: US/Euro and JPN. Both are the same game, just with different artwork/manuals.

And the Dream match never ends is a subtitle :) .

There is only one KOF'98 on the Neo.

Dream Match Never Ends IS a subtitle. The title of the game is KOF 98. Dream match and slugfest are the two different subtitles for the different regions. Galford knows what he speaks of.

Thanks SamuraiShodownSensei :) . That's what I was trying to say, but obviously am having trouble expressing :) .

And as for that jab at Shito, that was of course just a joke :) . I know that he is not actually ridiculing me :) . I was just having fun cause I like Shito :) .

wink

You should have seen the argument I had with a member here (forget who) over Samurai Shodown Warriors Rage for Playstation. I kept trying to explain that SSWR for the Playstation is a sequel to the second hyper game. And SSWR2 for PSX in japan is the same as SSWR in the US. Took me about ten posts to get my point across.
