A couple of you might know me from the IGN boards. I've been a fan of the Neo Geo for a long time but never put the money forth to own one. Well I got it stuck in my head about 2 weeks ago. So I sold off some of my collection to raise some money and I've been shopping for a deal.

Today, I just purchased a "Super" Neo (I'm a tech junkie so the stereo and S-video really appealed to me) with a home version (converted of course) of Shock Troopers 1 which I hear is excellent. I should have my set by next week. I will post pics.

I look forward to talking with all of you.

I've only been researching for a little over a week and I get the feeling that the Neo Geo "community" is a tight knit one.

Sort of, although we have our fair share of drama and arguments.

Might I suggest any game in the Metal Slug series as a second purchase? Probably THREE would be the best since it's the cheapest yet most highly regarded. One of the best 2D games ever! Although, there is a PS2 release slated for later...

and you took the words right out of my mouth. Dont wait for the PS2 version I'd be very surprised if its as good as the neo version but of course sony's machine could surprise me.
