3 count bout is a fucking cool game. It has a couple of really neat tunes, good variation in stages, nice attention to detail, and some vicious gameplay. You can really get a workout playing that game. It's bloody ass hard, though! The difficulty jumps like crazy when you go from the 1st tourny to the second.
The game is dirt cheap for any format as far as I know... it's worth a pickup. It's a great game to play with a friend.
What do you guys think about this game? Favorite characters? Anything you want to say, go ahead.
I really like the Street Matches where you can ram the cars. If you smash the cars on the bottom of the screen its owner will come and yell at you. Then you can pick him up and throw him at your opponent. That's fucking COOL! I also like a little sound detail in that stage on the red car. If you smash it a couple of times and make its engine smoke, it makes a little sound of air escaping that is done REALLY well.
The move I like best is definitely the Knife Stab (B button from "sleeper") by Blues Hablam. What a fucking dirty move! He stabs the guy in the head numerous times, and then gives him one good gouge. When he puts the knife away he lifts his shoulders and puts out his arms as if to say, "I didn't do anything".
It doesn't push the neo's capabilities by any means, but it's just a load of FUN! I miss games like that. I just came back from visiting a board member in PA for a few days and out of the HUNDREDS of games we had available to play, we by far played 3 Count Bout the most. That's something I'll remember for a long time.
Another cool thing to note about this game is that in the wrestling stages, you only wrestle on the top half of the ring. Because you never see the ropes from the bottom of the ring the developers were able to make the characters very large, and didn't have to worry about anything obstructing the view of the sprites/gameplay. Cool idea.
