i have been interested in windjammers ever since i found out what it was about and according to the price its only a 100-140 game but i have only seen maybe 1 or 2 homecart windjammers for sale since i began wanting one

so how can it be that there are games on the price guide that are worth 200 or so dollars [metal slug 3 KoF 2001] that are available all the time but then there is windjammers thats supposed to be worth less but never appears for sale? is there something im missing or what eye

Don't you know Murphys Law:
The game you are looking for won't show up at exactly the time you are looking for it?(But it will one minute later, and it will be sold one minute before you start looking again...) :D

Seriously ,thats just plain coincidence. wink
It's a good game, but definitely not (that) rare-just keep looking.

i can tell you why ink, a member here by the name of buster_broon is notorious for buying every windjammers game that he sees for sale. he loves the game, and wants every single copy of it.

I think Windjammers is a really good game, so people don't want to tend to sell it in the "reasonable" price range... It is not rare or anything, just that everyone who has it likes it enough to keep it (and don't really NEED to sell it).

Think you hit the nail on the head there Last Blade. Its a keeper, but enough of them produced to keep the price down.

Hmmm I found this auction

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3007722992&category=187" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3007722992&category=187</a>

there is no way that's a legit label, but was Windjammer(s) haha no S bootlegged? It wouldn't seem like a good title to bootleg. Could just be a replacement label.

Well, game prices are a weird thing. Rarity can factor into the price, but overall I think it's just based on what people expect to pay based on what they've seen. Like, all Neo Geo games started out at a high price, but over time they kind of drop off or go up a bit depending. At some point they settle into a price, and then later on that price may stick even if the game becomes rarer. I mean, Metal Slug 1 was probably really hard to get at some point, so the price skyrocketed. Now, everyone who has it knows its value and can't resist selling it at some point. Even people who bought it are unlikely to keep it I'd think. So you see it all the time now. At some point, though, I bet it was really scarce. Who would want to part with it? The only thing driving people to part with such an amazing game is high value...

EDIT: Oh yeah, I own a US Windjammers home cart, actually. It wouldn't work on my Phantom-1 for some reason, so I had to get the home cart. It's actually my most valuable non-new Neo-Geo game.

Heheh.... I know the feeling. I remember when I was in the market for Windjammers. I could not find it anywhere. I lost several auctions unitil I went nutz and paid somethingl like $220 for it in an eBay shootout! The next week I found two for about $150 --- brand new! eek!
