The difference is that the Neo•Geo Gold came with
two joysticks, mem card, and a game. While the normal
Neos came with a joytick and the system only.

technically, the gold systems do not exist anymore. I mean, unless people are selling new systems, with 2 joysticks, a memory card, and 1 NEW GAME.

I have seen many "gold systems" on ebay without the memory card or game. I thought it was suppose to come with a game and stuff but was not sure.

A lot of people list stuff as mint too.

I think people have a tendency to mis represent what they are selling because they don't know better.

Early Gold systems did not include memory card.
My system doesn't have pack-in memory card when I bought in 1991

The 1st release Gold System came with 2 sticks and a choice of either Nam 1975 or Baseball Stars Pro as the pack in cart.

The 2nd release Gold Systems came with 2 sticks and Magician Lord and a memory card.

As far as I'm aware they the Gold Systems were for the US and European markets only. I've never seen a Japanese boxed gold package.

Yep.
Guess what, I forced the store to give me Ninja Combat instead of Baseball Stars Pro or Nam-1975 :)

Two months later I bought Nam-1975 :D
