I just got another copy of this game. I absolutely DETESTED this game when I first had it... (far more than I hate KOF '98, which is *really* saying something)

I'm going to try it for a little bit tonight. Anyone have any tips, tricks.. etc... for it so I can get some enjoyment out of it? I played it all of a handful of hours before.

I dunno, I just want to make sure I actually give it a good look this time before I truly hate it.

if youre a sf3er then you may like the just defend
system. instead of parrying by pressing forward you
tap backwards at the right time.
there s canceling for just about everyone
but the only ones i ve learned are some of the kim
kids and terry. leave it on demo to see the cpu
pull off some stuff. i dont remember what you do to cancel though.
bc?
eh.
its a decent game, but as i discussed with others
before. its almost a let down how small the sprites
are compared to the real bout series. no matter how
fluidly animated they are.
which i really wonder how real fluid it is after playing
alot of sf3
its a good game.
i like it lots more than it looks like i m putting on right now.
i like the characters. and wish there was another
motws to further their story lines.

I don't play MOTW in single player very much at all anymore, but its the TOP Neo game amongst my 2D gaming buddies. Lemme tell you when that shit gets taken out for some vs. play, we're there for HOURS.

My Rock vs. my buddies Terry, its like the end all be all match up that never gets old.

Then I pull out Butt or the Kim sons, and the competition just gets more fun. There are still characters that I haven't even TOUCHED in that game yet because I've stuck to mastering 3-4 Characters in vs. play. It'll be years before I can honestly say I'll have mastered everyone I want to in the game.

Peace

It's definitely not worth the price its going for right now on homecart.

But regardless, it's a solid game that is still fun to play, if you can get past all the raving speculation surrounding it.

I have to say though, Garou certainly has a style all its own... And that's one thing that gets points in my book.

I think MotW is one of the best fighting games EVER.I just love the SNK brand combo systems.I can't imagine why anyone would hate this game, unless you're tired of playing 2D fighters, period.Give it a shot, you'll love it once you figure out all the cool special attacks and combos for each character.

It's the closest thing to a game that uses the Street Fighter III engine, which means the engine is nearly perfect. Single player, much like 3rd Strike doesn't really suit me. What it really comes down to is VS mode. It's sooo great for VS fighting, and the innovations like Breaking that the system uses are pretty neat too. I wouldn't imagine that you'd find it much fun playing it by yourself though.

A benchmark Neo game.

I can see why some wouldn't like it though. Hopefully it'll suck you in this time VT.

SVC needs a grown up Hotaru in it, she could beat down Chun Li.
