prolly been asked a thousand times but i havent seen a thread so...

preface please reply in a similar format to how ive replied and PLEASE only list your MOSTEST favourite FIGHTIN game on the NEO!!

REAL BOUT FATAL FURY 2

SYSTEM:
-line sway isnt to cheezy with some levels being only one line
-dash and backdash (i prefer over run)
-3 button attack system would be better as 4 (lp,lk,hp,hk) but i think but it works well
-turnaround in the air for crossups
-good game speed & pace
-tight control
-nice chain system
-good damage levels on attacks incl combos
-moderately effective air blocking (good)
-some cool juggles and infinites

CHARACTERS:
-prolly of my five favourite characters at least three or four are in here (tung, hon-fu, sokaku and bob)
-the rest are cool too
-i like the terry, andy and joe from this game more than kof or cvs
-rick and xiangfei are cool (rick especially)
-sokaku got changed for the worse :(
-kim is cheap :(
-havin jubei yamada would have made me marry this game (push it from a 10/10 to 11/10)

GRAPHICS AND SOUND:
-backgrounds are nice and colorful, good variation
-big sprites with great animation.. still the best graphics in a fighting game "ive" ever seen

MISC:
-the style of this game suit me perfectly and to date my skill at this was prolly the best ive ever been at a fightin game.. i remember gettin streaks of 20 in city arcades in osaka
-once i remember getting props from some hardcore japanese players after gettin about 20 or 30 hits in a challenge using bobs infinite :)
-currently my desire to own this game is driving me crazy...

well thats about all, please if u can be bothered to take the time to answer this thread then answer in a similar format (if not the same) itll make easy and interesting reading for other members (i hope) :)

I'd have to say it's a tie between KOF '98 and Garou MOTW for me, with honorable mention going for KOF 2K2. As far as the KOFs go, I liked the roster from '98 and it played well, I like 2K2 due to it's newer wacky characters and that it's more refined over 2001. Then I simply love what the FF series became when they dared to think outside of the box with MOTW, including it's "look". Thus overall I'd have to say Garou MOTW is my favorite, BUT... I'm hard pressed between the two KOF games. It matters not though, for I await SVC CHAOS and me thinks this game is going to blow all else out the water.

Ever since the first time I saw him it was Earthquake mainly due to his size. The first time I saw SS I was just in aw at how huge the characters were but Earthquake was even bigger. It was great.
Second is Terry after the first FF game.
Third would be Iori that guy is just psycho.

Hmm...

Right now I would have to say Real Bout Fatal Fury, seconded by Kof '97.

I had such fond memories of playing the first Real Bout on my friends AES back in '95, and I just remembered how cool it was to be able to send your opponents through the backgrounds, especially in the subway. I hadn't seen a feature like that in any 2-D fighting game at the time, so the details really impressed me.

But I just love the way the game plays, its an updated FF3 with the Jins, Ryuji and Geese selectable, and different stages.

Also the simplistic chain combo system is really fun, and I can always get into it fairly quickly.

I love its style, the atmosphere feels the most serious out of all the Real Bouts, seeing as its the episode in the story when Geese finally dies. A really dark and bloody tournament setting...

As for '97, it has my favorite character roster with the Real Bout and New Face teams, and the conclusion of the Orochi storyline. Great style here as well.

The music is sparse, but the few actual tracks are memorable, such as when you face Riot of the blood Iori, and Orochi.

I love the presentation of it, just like a television broadcast with the special screens and announcer's voice, very creative.

The gameplay is smooth and fast, with easy to pull off chain combos and CD counters. And the first to feature EX and ADV modes, for the dodging or rolling methods of play. On the whole, its my favorite KoF, followed by '95.

For now, until I play some more, those are my top two games on the Neo. I'll just have to keep on playing...

KOF 98

SYSTEM:
+Choice of 2 great "grooves".
+Run instead of Dash. (I prefer run)
-Not perfect controls, but no slouch either.
+Full of satisfying combos. (Not too over the top)
-+It's KOF; you either love it or hate it.

CHARACTERS:
+Includes the likes of Terry, Kyo, Ryo, Iori, and Heavy D glee
+Just about everyone is a Powerhouse.
-K' and Jun haven't been introduce yet. (Jun is so under rated)

GRAPHICS AND SOUND:
+A couple great and a couple not so great backgrounds. (More great than not)
+Classic SNK tunes
+One of the top KOF's in terms of character frame counts.

MISC:
-looking back, I'm not sure this is my favorite neo fighter, but it's sure a whole hell of a lot of fun.

I was never really a fighter fan but I still like to play SS1 and SS2 so I should say that SS2 is my fav fighter.

I'd also say that my liking to fighting games started with Mortal Kombat followed by SS1 (remember how they came out within a year or less of each other)

I will continue to point out IMO SNK designed the best fighting games in the world.

To limit it to only one choice would be very hard IMO.

But here are a few of my absolute favorites:
Garou MotW
Last Blade 2
Samurai Shodown 2

characters, mood, atmosphere, all superb

Way too hard to limit myself to 1 Neo Fighter:

KOF '95, Samurai Shodown, Savage Reign, Kizuna, AOF 3, World Heroes Perfect, Last Blade etc.
