Probably because people never heard of the damn thing, heard some people here talking about it, loaded up the MAME ROM and said "HOLY SHIT THiS IS AWESOME!!"

I'm just speaking from personal experience though...

Peace

Not sure why but it is worthy of attention.

Why the sudden surge of interest?
Maybe it's the fact that you can switch between weapon and bare-handed fighting.
Maybe it's the awesome music and audio.
Maybe it's the fact that this great fighter wasn't made by SNK, but, in fact, ADK.
Maybe it's the fact that the fighters look like characters straight out of Rurouni Kenshin.
Maybe it's the awesome in-game backgrounds and character artwork.
Or maybe it's become such a difficult game to track down on any format (MVS/AES/CD), that it's gaining attention just by the unusually large amounts of money it's raking in (much like Waku Waku 7, Sengoku 2, Viewpoint, and Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer).

Who knows? Who can really say for sure?

small enough to run fluidly on Kailerra while big enough to look and sound quite good.

Glad I have my homecart and soundtrack. Need to buy the mook again though. Official NM stuff is hard to find.

I'm a big fan of weapons fighters, so I had to get it. Since I finally got a Phantom, I could afford the game and get the mvs. :D

Well, I think it's a very well done fighter, nothing spectacular but very good. The main reason I'm looking for it is that a lot of people I meet at Neo get-togethers play this a lot. I'll play about any Neo game as long as I've got competition and a large number of people who want to play the game.

Man, I HATE YOU. I was watching that Ninja Masters auction you won, but didn't want to take a chance on it. Good buy my man!!!!

Ninja MAster's is one of the top 3 fighters on the Neo.

If it's getting more attention, it's prolly because people like EW and ForeverSublime have been trying to tell everyone how good it is.

And it's about fuckin' time.

BRILLIANT fighting game, and the cornerstone of my collection.

I do have the MVS. Man, I need to get my priorities straight and play more... SNK4EVER was totally into the game when he tried it here, and he wanted the homecart. frown

This game is pretty badass. I haven't played it to it's full potential, but I heard people talking about a combo where you pick up your weapon in the middle or something and keep going. Now that is badass!

I actually love this game as well, the gameplay is awesome and the characters are cool, and I love Nobunaga he is one bad ass BOSS. Btw, I own the homecart as well.

Interest in this game (at least on the boards) seems to be rather cyclical. No one will talk about it for a bit, but when someone does, lots of people speak up and say how much they like it. Maybe it's because it was a one shot and not a series.

Anyway, I'll add to the "It rocks" crowd. I really like it too. I'm not very good at it, but it is a really neat game, well animated, and the combos are certainly fun to run off. I reall ylike the character designs too. Just well done all around.

I think I'll skip th ehome cart though. Just too spendy. eek! I think the MVS goes for $50 or so, but I am not positive.

Unfortunately I and several other people can't seem to find a single place/person that has ANY copies of the MVS game...If someone was selling it on MVS I'd buy it in a second.

It may be worth calling MD Game Sales just to check. It was not listed in his latest mail list, but you never know. Mike may even have a lead on one and be able to quote you a price. Certainly worth a phone call.

When I asked MD before, he didn't have it. But things change, so it's worth a shot.

I got my Ninja Masters kit except the box for 80 shipped from Japhei. Took me about 3 months to finally track down.

Good luck to those looking for it.

This game rocks! I got my Japanese MVS copy from CKChan not too long ago.I think I paid something like $40-50 for it.
