What's the difference, if any, between this and the english version?

And how can you tell?

Thanks.

Most of the japanese voices are cut. You can tell by looking on the cart, it says made in korea. There is no intro animation. During the character's win animation, their mouth is moving but no speech is coming out of it.

I have a korean cart, and my cart has all these things missing.

Hi,

the difference is easy:
JPN - Samurai Spirits IV
JPN have just different Insert, Manual and Spine of the Cart. On the Back is "Made in Japan".

US-Version
Most have Gold-Sticker on the Front of the Cart.
Back of the Cart is "Made in Japan", not "Made in Korea".
The Manual and Insert are the same like the "Korean-Version".

Korean-Version
w/o Gold-Sticker on the Front of the Cart.
Manual and Insert are the same like the "US-Version".
Title-Screen looks different, also some voices are cutted.

Check out the following thread...

Answer me this - my cart says "made in Korea", but it has all of the voices, the original title screen, and the opening animation.

So unless someone just replaced the back of the cart, there must be a 4th version, right?

*Edit*

Well, the other thread suggests a "defective" run, but I can't see how that would change things like the title screen. Voices maybe, but...

Why is the Korean version so crippled? Is it an unofficial release or did Japan decide to screw over Koreans again for the 50 millionth time?

I don't know, my cart may be defective or something. Because it has no intro animation, voices cut, ect.

Does the japanese version have a language selector, because my korean copy sure doesn't?

Damn Korean-Versions...

Seems there exist different Korean-Carts too.

So 100% different is the Title-Screen and on the Back of the Cart "Made in Korea" instead "Made in Japan".

My Korean version has all voice intact and has the intro screen we would expect to see. I think there were two runs of the Korean SS4, simple as that. One as it was originally programed, one that had edits in it.

BTW, the edits are more than liely a result of Korea not having the most favorable attitude towards Japan and the Japanese. Goes back to WWII. Attrocities die hard. The last thing some older Koreans want to hear (and maybe some younger ones too, who knows) is Japanese in their entertainment.

yea, Korea gets enough Japanese crap pushed on to them. It goes back to well before WWII. I mean, Japan used Koreans as slaves, tried to destroy their culture, and colonized them. It's pretty crappy shit.
