NGP is already available on the net to buy for DC, so are NES, Genesis, and SNES games. Haven't heard of any Neo Geo stuff. Well, at least the site i visit doesn't have anything.

Well don't think it will happen. The only reason some games got emulated on the DC via MAME was because the DC could load the games into its RAM were the source code for Mame was put. The DC RAM is not big enough to hold Neo Geo games. Maybe there could be another way of doing it but the DC is pretty much dead. Can't believe how quickly it went down....got to be a record.

-i agree w/ that, and i don't like it one bit. some of those jap. games were badass and never made it over here.

anyway. would people like to see this happen? the neo emulation. cuz after all the neo is final lap, and profits are dwindling regardless of anything else.

as for me sure i'd get emulated crap, but i'd have my mvs or aes copy also.

actually.....there is an emulator for the DC that runs quite a few early neo games, just with no sound. It's called Mamed i think, i'll find a link in a minute.

Just because the DC is dead doesn't mean hobbiests won't program for it. It's not like some person programming a Neo Geo emulator for the DC is going to sell the thing, so why would that person care if the system is dead or not?

Just because a system is dead doesn't mean independent projects for the system will stop. I think there is a better chance of seeing something like that on the Xbox though, since it is so similar to a Windows PC and has better capabilities than the DC. Hence porting an already existing Windows emulator would be that much easier. That was at least the case with the DC since it could run WindowsCE.

Here is the link for the Neo Geo's. Run at 75% speed with no sound.

Sure just because a system is dead doesnt mean that people will stop coding..... but it kinda does. Once a system is out of the limelight many developers move on. No glory in it. Computer programmers love the glory (trust me on this one). You are the first, your God, Second...king of the losers. The last update on the Mamed site was Aug. 2001. I loved the DC, still do. Fact is Sega screwed us one last time. 32X, Saturn then pulling Shenmue II and dumping DC's. A PS1 still runs $99.00?!?! As for the XBox.... don't hold your breath. You got some serious protection on that Animal. From being able to acces the HD to the disk itself.... be a LONG time.

<img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[LOL]" /> HOW many years has that been said? The Neo will NEVER die; it's been 12 years. KOF and MS4 are HOT commodities. And

EMULATION IS MASTURBATION! You'd rather have the photo or the girl?

EMULATION IS THEFT! "I can't afford the game; I'll have to emulate it." = "I can't afford the car; I'll have to steal it."

I do a bit of DC devving in my spare time..

coded a hardware layer to abstract the DC hardware into a nice interface..

blah blah, got half way through a ngcd emulator and gave up due to lack of motivation.

I'm not for emulation by any means, but I am for the independent groups of people who program their own games via the Dreamcast capabilities. I'd rather work my ass off to afford the system for the one game I want, before I ported a rom of it to my PC. And as for X Box (let's not start of that piece of crap) I wonder how easy it is for people to even start running emulated games on the Box when it won't even read a burned CD. I love the Dreamcast and I hate to see it go, but support them anyway--buy those imports! I think 32x may have had the shortest life span though...

id agree with the post above. 32x, or the virtual boy perhapse had the shortest life spans. Heres another <a href="http://www.dcemulation.com" target="_blank">link</a>
to a dcemu site thats got an emu for early neo games. As for the Xbox and emus, it seems like it could blow away the DC in terms of that. With the HD and broadband connection support, as well as unified RAM to use however you wanted. Regardless, no emu could touch playing the real thing.
