Kizuna Encounter-Do you think it's over rated?

Is it just me, or is Kizuna Encounter completely over rated? I guess that I'm the only one that actually likes Savage Reign more than it's sequel. Here's a list of why I think KE is nothing but pure collector's hype:

1. Every stage looks almost identical with the exception of King Leo's.

2. The tag mode adds no actual incentive to keep coming back unlike the VS. series.

3. The amazing double platform stages from SR are gone.

4. The stages don't have the individual flare that helped each character stand out in SR.

5. The BGM's are all to similar.

Please keep in mind that I'm in no way saying that KE is a bad game; I'm just saying that it's not worth the $8,000+ price tag that comes along with the US/EUR versions. What does everyone else think about Kizuna Encounter?

but of all the RARE and EXPENSIVE games

FUUN STB is probably the best

it saddens me SOOOOOOOO much people cant see the GENIUS and GREATNESS behind that game

Fuun STB is a great game, with some real genius in it.

But among the rare/expencive games of the Neo, BTG and Ninja Master really are the best ones.

Oh, well guess is a matter of prsonal tates.

Buyt again, guess we're all to say OverTop is kinda shit.

I love Kizuna. I'm still not very good at the game but I love the stages, moves, tag system, and most of all the music.

No game is worth more than $100 but rational thought doesn't actually come into play with this hobby.

Kizuna isn't over rated, cause I never hear anyone say what fun it is, or how good of a game it is. All they talk about is how RARE it is, and how much it SELLS for.

As for the game itself, it's an OK game, it isn't the greatest, but it's good for as old as it is, and I think it was the first game to have the tag in gameplay (KOF was the first game with TEAMPLAY though). Comapred to newer fighters, it feels dated to me.

As for Overtop, it has nice graphics, but I remember the cars being REALLY hard to control.

Ninja Master is pretty shitty, nice graphics though. I think NM's and Gowcaizer are a toss up for worst Neo Fighter.

I agree, Kizuna is a great game... the only thing that spoils it is the boss being so damn cheap. I knwo the same can be said of many Neo fighters, but King Lion is one of the worst imo. Other than that it is cool.

Oh, and just for the record: I think Ninja Masters is a great game too <img src="graemlins/makeface.gif" border="0" alt="[Make Face]" /> <img src="graemlins/makeface.gif" border="0" alt="[Make Face]" /> <img src="graemlins/makeface.gif" border="0" alt="[Make Face]" /> Gotta love the music in that game as well.

Whoa! You know, when I said 'kinda shit' I did not meant the game has nothing to offer. I'm the kind of NeoPlayer to find the good in Shi'ouken too!

But while I found OverTop cute and fun as a game, I've to admit I found that one of the most over-priced Neo games in terms of price/fun. One signle circuit anyone?

Maybe the worst in my opinion (again, talkin' in the 'nonsese criteria' of monery/fun is Tokuten Ou! 4... that one is damn expcencive too, and I really fail to find that anything essential, yes...

BTW, I hate Kizuna. I think it's easily one of the worst fighters on the Neo. The only thing I regret is selling my euro version because I could have made a fortune out of it

I own it on the MVS and it's one of my favourite fighters.. Gozu / Mezu kicks ass. Comparing it to Ninja Masters i'd say the music in Ninja Masters is the biggest let-down, and the combo system in Kizuna nice and easy

Yes, i actually like OverTop... i'm crazy for cars, and i like this type of arcade game (Neo Driftout is another one)... i even like Thrash Rally

We'll I'm actually after Trash Rally too.

I saw the Neo Drift Out in you collection pics, and I've to say I like it mabye better than OverTop.

Indeed OvertTop is a fun game, maybe is just me who can't justify that high price for that (little) much fun. But it's true I'm nothing like a car game addicted.

On the other hand, the japanophile I am, I'm totally mad about NInja Master's and its unique atmosphere, and I surely payed a CRAZY amount of money for that one.

Same goes for otehr titles I love so much, still understanding any other gamer could easely not like them at all.

I'm not here to say 'what I like is coll, what you like is crap', actually I think personal tastes play a major role in a someday 'weird' passion as neo Geo AES is for sure.

Kizuna IS shit. If it was common as hell, no one would give a damn. One more shitty fighting game, and not this overrated legend psychopaths are willing to fork out $5K for. Breaker's Revenge is even a hell of a lot better.

Foo-nin is a little short on characters, and stages to make it a monumental Neo Geo experience.
