When you get this thing does it include the joysticks and cables or is it separate and this thing is jamma compatible right?

If you are talking about the ones from Nikke at Kaiten, no they don't have controllers, you have to supply your own (the NG ones are supposed to work) [bYes[/b] it includes the AV cables, Power Cable, and the Power Adjuster. It is Jamma Compatible.

I bought the Raijin from Nikke a few weeks ago, and to save myself the trouble, I bought the Jamma Connector from him too, because he soders the male tip of the Jamma Harness for you. The only Jamma harnesses I found only had exposed wires on one end and the female connector on the other. If you need images, I can email them too you so you know what I'm talking about.

I liked the Raijin because it had the controllers built into it already and is constructed of durable metal. I don't like to put added stress on my controllers for the Neo (I know they can take it but still...) so I just got that one. It's not to much more than the AV 6000, but then this is only if you are talking about Nikke.

Besides that shipping, in my opinion, was extremely reasonable. It was about $56 for 4 day shipping from Japan, which is the same price you'd pay for Priority mail if getting you SuperGun from stateside distributors.

Hope this helps, see my site if you want some info on different boards.

Oh, and one more thing, if you do get the AV 6000 and use the Neo pads, I don't know how you would go about using 6 button games. I know you have to rewire some stuff, but the Neo only has 4 buttons. Just think about that when you want to play Street Fighter (with CPS II) or something.

I had something else, but I forgot.

I plan on using other boards like Naomi and Cps II. Which one should I get; Rajin or AV6000?

One word of warning on the Naomi, is that a diecent few of the games run on medium and high res monitors. Just thought id throw that out there. On the superguns, dunno which id get seeing as i have neither, but if you are going to use cps2 games then the neo sticks arnt going to work, so it would have to be either get different sticks or the Rajin (Rajin would be simpler).

So madgamer2000 I do intend to play other boards other than MVS. Do you strongly advise the Raijin? Also when I purchase that does it come complete with everything so that I can connect it to the TV? Cause it's not so clear on Nikke's site. Thanks.

As i said, iv never bought a super gun myself from Nikke, so im also a bit confused on that. In one spot it said that. In one spot it does say that the Raijin, "comes complete with AV & AC cables" so i would assume that it comes with the necessairy cables and the ones sold at the bottom are spererate incase you want svideo or had a TV with an RGB input. The sigma superguns also require a Jamma harness that you can buy from them. One other thing of note is, "This is Japanese equipment and should be used with AC-110 Volt." Thats about all i can tell you on that . We'll see if anyone that actually has a sigma replies with more info than I have.

As far as the joysticks go, there would be plenty of alternatives if you would rather get the AV6000. Massystems sells realy nice arcade sticks, although two of them would cost a sizable chunk of cash. Another alternative would be building your own sticks. Happ controls sells all the different parts for this, and here is a good site that tells all about how to do that:nice site. You could probably find many other links to sites detailing how to build sticks and superguns and whatnot on the tech forums here.

Also i may be totaly wrong here, but i believe i read somewhere on these forms not too long ago that the AV6000 is no longer sold and they have a 7000 thats almost identicle with some minor changes.

Sorry i dont have any more info. someone with some more 1st hand knowledge, please shed some light.

Ok kids, time to clear up confusion! I bought my Raijin from Nikke. It comes with AV cables (red, yellow, white) the Power cord, and the Power Adjuster (this adjusts the power GOING TO the motherboard, not what the SIGMA recieves). It operates fine on US power, as most Japanese products do. He's slow to respond because he is 12 hours ahead of us. Don't send an email at 3pm EST and expect a reply by 5pm. Most likely it will come while you are sleeping. He's been very friendly to me and answered all my questions. They only thing is that buying the AV 6000 and joysticks from MAS your bill is going WAY up! The Raijin's layout gets players about as close as you would find on one of the Red NEO cabs.

BTW: MAN I sent a reply PM to you, with tons of links & other info.

No problem, ask as many questions as you want. A cab wasn't an option for me, so I had to go with a Supergun (Puzzle De Pon was my driving force) I just don't suggest going through GW Trading. I've not heard good things about MAS systems either.

I have my Raijin plugged into a stepdown converter. Here's what Nikke told me about it:

If you live in USA you will not actually need a stepdown converter using
Japanese equipment. But since this is rather expensive items perhaps you
should. I know a lot of customers using their Japanese NeoGeo units wihout a
stepdown converter without having any problems. Same rule applies for the
Japanese XRGB-2 units I sell.

My $0.02:
The Raijin is a good supergun- even better than the HGA. The HGA doesn't like some boards with my Sony TV. If I hook the HGA to this set, some Taito G-Net system games like RC de GO! and Super Puzzle Bobble will cause "overdrive" which ends up making the picture go B&W. This HGA problem didn't rear its head with the Neo-Geo MVS board. For me, the two G-Net games above behave normally on Raijin.
