What's the difference with these two games? I'm not sure if I can tell besides the titles.

Also, how much do these two games go for? Perhaps THAT's the difference? <IMG SRC="smilies/glee.gif" border="0">

thanks,

I don't have Breakers, so I can't say 100% for sure, but I believe BR has a few added moves and ONE extra character.

Perhaps the original Breaker's had a design flaw (like MS2's two-player slowdown) that caused the creator's to release BR as an "amended version", with a few extras thrown in for good measure?

Breaker's was a japanese only AES release, which likely didn't sell well (hence it's scarcity) and most likely why it's sequel (or update) was never released on home cart.
Hope that helps!

Sorry, I forgot to add the "prices":

Breaker's on home cart will probably cost you between $300-400 (some people on this forum are selling it for $400 right now).

Breaker's Revenge can be had on MVS cart for about $40 (if you look around, you can get it for that much with the marquee, stickers and all, too).

Your other option is to have BR converted to play on homecart, which you could pay someone about $100 to do, or do yourself with some help from the experts and a soldering set-up. The prices vary a lot on home made converted carts, but you can expect to pay about $300 (and up, depending where you go) for the whole package.

Breakers Revenge is one of the weakest "upgrades" ever for a fighter.

The biggest change is the new character, Saizo. There's also a boss code to play as Bai-Hu (I tried the code on regular Breakers and it didn't work, either it was changed or it doesn't have the code)

The artwork for the win quote/Vs. screens were completely redrawn. Backgrounds are at different times of day/different colors. There's some messages that appear when you get big combos. ("Great!" etc.)

Uh, that's about all of the changes. The old characters weren't tweaked at all. It's definitely not worth owning both games since they're so similar, Breakers Revenge is easy enough to find on MVS so I'm happy with mine.

No the weakest upgrade ever is Puzzle De Pon R.

Breakers Revenge has one new character, and I think 2 new backgrounds. If you get a Breakers MVS cart, just get BR and skip breakers.

that's why I said Breakers Revenge was "one of" the worst upgrades ever <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> Puzzle de Pon R does suck hard too. Damn Visco.
