Just the Artwork and maybe the Rarity.
There are just 500 Copies of the US-Version worldwide.

If we buy the English version from Shawn that would help him out and it might help us get other English releases.(Possibly Metal Slug 4)

There are thousands of Japanese KoF2k1's to be had. The English release is limited to 500 pieces. Either your a Japanese KoF purist who thinks Japanese games are the only way to go, or your just plain stupid for not picking up the English release. You wanna be able to read your spine don't you?

What about your manual?

Bryan ;)

Oh I see, I am one of the people who preordered the japanese version. I thought about getting the US version, but that will look weird next to my other KOF games. Why you say, because the other games are all japanese. I tend to like the japanese art better. The US art looks too plain.

It is not stupid to order a japanese cart. I pre-ordered mine from ncs. Maybe your right I can't read my japanese metal slug manual and it's hard to find it on the shelf next to my english carts, I guess I'll sell it. It is just preference. Advertising for someone every day and not getting paid for it, now that's stupid..........NEONUT

Stupid is as stupid does

I can't read Japanese but I still have lots fun with my JPN games.

I think those who "blindly" believe 500 copies shit are stupid.

Do you think they're fully support US release? Fuck no.

Because they want to make profit "in the future" like legends of Metal Slug AES

Well, it's a trick question.

You want to read manual.
It makes sense because we're in US and of course we want instruction sheet or manual in English.

But question is:

Do you really really want to read manual?

Some people say it's fun to read Neo manual in English because of SNK-ish English or mistake...bla bla bla.

Are you telling me you read through Neo manual every night before you go to sleep?

No.

Do you need English manual to figure out how to pull off those moves from fighting games?

I like manual in English but seems like people think "US version" is a gift from God.

In the near future would the US version be worth more than the japanese version, since only 500 copies would be available?

IMO, there is no doubt that the Japanese releases for the Neo Geo titles, whichever format (besides the MVS) has much better artwork than it's U.S. counterpart, but the manual is where it really bites you. I do in fact read the manual, because that's what it's made for.

Thank goodness the Neo's have a language translator chip inside otherwise I think for some people who only collect Japanese games right now may buy just English if the games came out in Japanese. Some may say that it's all about the gameplay (true for fighting games); however, for certain games, it's interesting to read the story line. Those who collect Capcom CPS 2 boards, such as Dungeons & Dragons can relate to this. 70% of the game is action, but it really burns you that if you cannot read what's going on, it leaves a sense of dissatisfaction.

I collect my MVS and AES in English, but for the Neo Geo CD, I prefer the Japanese version, simply because of the artwork.

It's all a matter of opinion...once again. No WRITE or RONG.

Yes!

You'd be surprised how many times I have to check how to pull Whip's DM (And she only has one.)

The "How to Play" screens only tells you so much.

The How to Play screen for LB2 didn't tell you how to reply from a block but the instruction booklet did.

I can't recall any of the How to Play screens from KOF telling you how to pull the safe fall but the instruction booklet did.

I won't even begin on the character interaction for KOF 97-98...

US Home carts are ugly. I'd take Japan version anyday. I don't buy a game to read the manual, especially a fighting game...

So this is the main reason you want to get US version and join the Neo scene?
