Why is everyone on this forum so against Emulation & Roms. I have over 100 Neo-Geo games and I didn't spend a penny to obtain them.
While you losers go on about being Hardcore Neo-Geo fans and spend hundreds of dollars on games, you need your heads seeing to, your being ripped off left, right and center.

The fact is, my ignorant friend, emulation isn't 100% perfect. Plus, have you ever owned a Neo Geo cart system? I bet you haven't... it's hard to explain, but it's contagious buying the game, I know that much. Plus, we're giving money so we can get more games, you stupid dick.

I have to agree with Spike. Neo you won't last a week here with that attitude. The people on these forums love the Neo very much and willingly pay lots of money for the games. NeoRagex/mame cannot even come close to what it's like playing a game on a home cab or a cart system. The graphics, controls, sound, and gameplay are way below cab and home cart standard. SNK went under because of people like you who would rather be shelfish and steal their games instead of supporting their producers and buying them. Finally, Neo gaming does not have to be expensive. You can go mvs and get most carts cheaper than your average playstation game.

One last thing. I'm not saying that Roms bad, rather we dislike people who don't buy the games after they play the roms. I use emulation to try out a game and see if I like it before I shell out hundreds for a cart. However, if I do like a game, I WILL BUY IT.

I don't really have any objections to people having ROMs of 10 year old games, as long as nobody is selling them for profit!

But you are obviously just trying to be controversial. Why not try NGFs BB, you'd fit right in!

Even though I don't like Neo prices but I still own a small collection. Emul is shit.
I tried it once three years ago just for fun and guess what, shitty control, bad sound (or no sound at all) plus all the glitches....that's fucked up and ruin lovely Neo game.

I don't mind if you play other "dead" console games which no longer in the market in emul form but not Neo.

Your attitude sounds like "I have all the pirated softwares and dont' know why those morons spend money to get legal version...."

I'm not against emulation, but I am against people who think it is ok to play it 24/7. If you like the games so much, show some support damnit....

Damn straight. The playstation was an ok system. Some of the games were really good, but cmon people look at the big picture. How many Fu*king playstation games are there!!! You can take your EA sports and your fifa 91,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99,00,01 and stick it up your a$$. Seriously though, you know who supports this? Kids. Example....

"Mommy mommy, p-l-a-y-s-t-a-t-i-o-n!!!" Then they look at the pretty cover, make their mom pay for the game, take it home and play it for about 3 minutes and never play it again. Sony just has TOO much money for advertisement etc.

i only support emu's as a try before you buy kind of situation. if it werent for neoragex, i'd have no clue about what this 'neo geo' thing is.

Emulation is awful. And if you need to be told why we are against emulation and ROMs, you're probably to selfish to understand. I say this thread should be closed because this person is trying only to get attention.

I was thinking the same thing, but I like to see these people get grilled first.

I would like to see this person, who came from nowhere and started praising ROMS in an obvious attempt to offend us, get banned from the BB.

I generally agree with you, but Sony has Square, which has Final Fantasy, which I happen to think is the best game series of all time. So the Playstation isn't shit to me. But I never did like the controller very much, and I don't play it for much other than FF now, because all of the other games I play are better on other platforms (Neo, DC, and Saturn).

Hey Neo Fascist, played any KOF2000 lately? How about Prehistoric Isle 2? Nightmare in the Dark? Metal Slug 3? Sengoku 3? Strikers 1945 Plus? Ganryu?

Oh and how you think Neo games have been around so long for people like you to steal? Because of gamers like us who support the company financially because we care about the future of the games industry.

Emulation has its place, but definitely not for outright piracy.....

Well, I have to agree that PS has too many "fansy" titles but gameplay sux big time.

I have no beef with NES, Genesis, and SNES roms.... but all others.... well no comment. The other guys pretty much said it.

My only beef with emulation is when people try to sell ROMS for profit when you can dl ROMS for free. Roms and emus for sale are categorically illegal.

It's none of my business when someone uses an emu or downloads shit from Napster in the privacy of their own home (face it, almost everyone that is half-computer-literate have used an emu or downloaded and mp3 at some point). However, when one tries to sell downloaded roms, mp3 or warez for profit, then I get pissed off....ESPECIALLY NEO GEO ROMS.

Neo Geo Roms can not come close to experiencing the real Home or MVS cart.

The sound sucks on some neo geo roms.

So so many things to reply to here!
First, ROM's are both good and bad at the same time. They are good because they are a good way to play great games that you can't find anywhere (Secret of mana 2, with the english patch on the SNES is one of the best examples). They are also awesome in that for Neo games you can try out so many games to see if it's worth to plunk down the cash to get that game. And yes they attract new people to the platform (That's why I'm here now), not to mention introduce you to a bunch of great games. For me this was Blazing Star, Last Blade series, Metal Slug series (more of a reminder on this one), and Mark of the Wolves (thank god for finding that on EMU). I have ordered all of these games now that I own a MVS setup. So it can attract people, I mean when you look at it we really are a niche market.

HOWEVER, ROMS are very dangerous especially to companies like SNK, where a ROM can actually hurt sales, unlike a SNES, Genesis or Atari. I mean, why buy KOF98 or much more applicable and recent: Mark of the Wolves, when you can just download it? This can actually detract sales from a struggling company, to an already small market. Not to mention no matter what you think Neo ROMS are illegal, the copyright is still there!

The PSX isn't the best system that was out there, it just had all the right things going for it. It beat Saturn because it had better 3D performance, and we all know how much the mainstream loves 3D. It beat the N64 because it's a CD format, and developers didn't want the overhead of "expensive" carts (oh god the irony on that one is sad).
And the main reason Sony won out was yes Squaresoft. I know that's why I bought my PSX, and why I own a PS2. Sure there aren't any good games now, but there is going to be Final Fantasy, and god knows what other unbelieveable RPG's they'll put out for it. And yes I'm inviting flames but I agree, Final Fantasy is the definative game "series". (Please don't flame me...

You just made a big mistake you have given me evidence that you are using stolen material, (ROMS) and you also stated that you spent nothing for them.

People worked long and hard to make the games so they should be compensated somewht for their work. Though I have nothing personally trying a game through emulation then buying it but not if you don't buy it.
