Anyone know of any stores in the area to check for neo geo games/software/accessories? The only store I know of is GameDude... someone else mentioned MAS systems, but i dunno if they have a storefront or if they offer anything but games.

Let me know!

Well, it's pretty much just Gamedude unfortunately.

I live in Los Angeles and I buy 90% of my Neo games by mail.

Most Japanese run gameshops (Like the excellent 'Hyper Game Action' in Torrance) will look at you all confused if you ask them if they carry any Neo games.

I'll list all the ones that come to mind though-

1) Gamedude has Homecarts (Poor to average selection), CDs (Poor selection), NGPC (Poor to average selection) and very rarely Home cart and CD systems. They may have some new NGPCs, but I'm not sure. Some way overpriced games along with some way underpriced games. Overall, not good, but they're just about it. Puts stickers on carts.

2) Japan Video Games (Gamestar) San Gabriel: Has Ghost Pilots and KOF 2000 homecarts. Some CD and NGPC stuff. Not much though.

3) Gamestuff, Monterey Park: No more Neo stuff (Except maybe NGPC). They used to have some cool stuff though.

4) Hyper Game Action, Torrance, formerly Costa Mesa: No Neo stuff (Maybe NGPC) good selection of DC games though. No Saturn stuff either.

So you're saying gamedude has games that are UNDER priced as well as overpriced? I'll have to print out the aes priceguide before I go there again....

Exactly,

Bring a copy of our price guide. It won't look weird because they actually have printed out pages of their own price list for you to pick up as reference (so they don't have to label all the games every time). You'll usually find a good buy or two once in a while. No guarentees, though :)

Yeah, I've actually been before in my pre-neo days. Was pretty impressed with their sega cd selection -- I cleaned em out ;)

I use to go to the Hyper Game Action in Costa Mesa all the time. THat was a nice store, they had SF3: 3rd Strike import copies for $5 NEW! They had some $5 bargains on Dc imports.

They must have done bad if they had to close down that store. Is the Torrance store bigger? Does it have a good selection? There import prices for new games were ridiculous though.

How far is it from the Costa Mesa store?

Never been to the one in Torrance. I actually live a block away from the old Hyper Game Action on Bristol.

Sucks they have all closed down. Hyper Game Action, and the one across the street from it. I wonder what happened to the one across the street's games?

If you buy from Gamedude, make sure they get your order right. They're a bunch of retards, who have constantly fucked my order. Make sure they ship the right game for god's sake, and if you go down there, make sure the game you want is in the case before you leave the damn store.
