I have that Neo Geo MVS Cabinet that I want to buy, and I'd like to know if it can be laid out on it's side or back, or if it has to be Upright at all times.
Are there any Special instructions on how to transport MVS Cabinets?

THANKS and waiting for your replies! :D

I'm sorry. I'm not spamming up the Boards, I just got 1 Reply! Am I supposed to trust an "I don't think it would hurt"!? If I get more replies, then I won't post about it anymore!

Anyway, you didn't answer the question, just yelled at me. So I've got 2 Replies, 1 "I don't don't think" and 1 Non-Answer. Thanks.

If you want to delete this, go ahead. There must be at least 100 Users here who have an MVS Cabinet, and only 1 Replied. I'm sorry if I want to be sure about something so I don't RUIN THE MACHINE! I wouldn't make 2 Topics about the same thing if I, for example, wanted to know how many Fighters are in KOF 2001! This is a serious question, that if not answered correctly, could result in the destruction of a valuable Machine!

Pot, Kettle, Black.
If your not gonna try & help the guy, why don't you follow your own lame advice.

Take out the monitor, & secure it seperatly.
Then you will have no problems laying the cab on it's back.

Yeah most of the weight of the cab is in the monitor. I'd take extra special caution when attampting to remove it though...they hold a massive electrical charge.

As far as laying it down...it will be fine even with the monitor in it. Remember that there are cocktail style arcade cabs with monitors positioned that way naturally.

Very true, your probably right, most cabs will be fine.

Just not knowing the condition of his cab, makes me want to say, double check it.
When i bought my 1st MVS cab, the nonitor was not secured inside.
Would have been a disaster had I not checked it.
Some arcade Ops are lazy, & dont screw em in good.

Just never hurts to double check, IMO.

Yep, just open up the cab and check for anything that doesn't look securly bolted down..whether it be the monitor, the MVS carts, or loose change still in the coin box <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" />

Also, needless to say, it helps to get enough people to help carefully lift the cab during loading and unloading.. its easy to underestimate the weight, and a rough landing for the cab can be bad news. Laying the cab on the side or back shouldn't be a problem.

I'll third, or forth that whatever... No problem as long as nothing jerks free during the move. Check that the board is secure, and games are removed, the control panel and other items are secure and that the monitor is in really good and you will have no problems.

I have transported several games on their backs without a problem ever. Another helpful tip is to put the power cord inside the cab. Hopefully you can open the back door up and tuck it inside. This way the plug won't get mangled.
