Need ALL Opinions on the Price of this Cabinet! R+R!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone!

As some of you know, I have been in the Market for a Neo Geo MVS Arcade System for quite some time now.

Well, I found one.......Now I need your Opinions if I should buy this Neo Geo Arcade Cabinet! This is what it is :

Neo Geo 1 Slot MVS Arcade Cabinet :
- Standing up, not Sitting Down version
- Monitor has a couple of light "Fingerprint"-Like Plastic Smudges on the EDGE of the Whole Glass Screen, much farther away than the Monitor Picture behind the Glass.
- ALL The Buttons Work Fine
- Nothing seems to be Cracked
- The Stick is the "Bat" Style
- The Stick has just the right amount of Use on it, making it easy to use
- There seems to be NO Rust at all
- Comes with KOF '98 MVS Cart

The Whole thing would cost $700 Cdn. ( $437 US )

Now I have tried to put together how much it would cost to buy everything separately online, and this what I came up with :

$110 - 1 Slot Motherboard
$100 - Twin MAS Sticks
$200 - Supergun
$80 - Monitor
$60 - KOF '98
----------
$550 TOTAL

I think I even put some prices in too low ( Sticks, Monitor, KOF ), so I'm not sure about that....

And even on top of ALL That, I would have to pay Shipping Costs ( ) and Duty Fees ( Customs ) for the Insurance! ( )
But the Guy I would buy it from could just get a U-Haul, and that would be WAY Cheaper!

Now I ask you, would this be worth it? And if so, by how much? I am very excited, but I am very nervous as well, as I don't want to get screwed.

DA, you are in a good position because you can try it before you buy it. If the cab feels good to you, thats a good sign.

The price is right IMO, and you have the 'shipping problem' licked because its a local seller.

One thing though, is it the outer glass covering that is 'smudged' & not the monitor itself? Make sure your monitor has no burn-in or faded color patches when in use.

Is the cab all red with 'Neo Geo MVS' on the side (original) or is it a converted cab. Either way its a decent deal, especially if its an original SNK cab.

Only the Glass Covering is Smudged. The Monitor's Screen itself seems perfect.

The Cabinet is ALL Red everywhere, and there is a "Neo-Geo" Logo on the Top ( the Yin-Yang ), and the Marquees would go to the Right and Left of the Logo.

I need more Opinions!!!!

Depends on how fussed you are about having an offical cab with controls that are acceptable to you already mounted. Personally I got my hands on a generic jamma cab, mvs ready with extra button hookups and 4 buttons per player, for £50 (about $75us / $110can). Obviously thats without an MVS motherboard and KOF98 cart, and it's not a nice offical snk cab, but I'm happy with it and it didn't cost me much. I plan on spending more money on it to do it up and redo the control panel with the exact parts I want to use, but the price for something workable is very low.

At the end of the day I bet if you buy it you'll be chuffed to hell and really value and love your cabinet. So unless money is a big issue and you want MVS the cheapest way possible (like me), I#d say just buy it.

Sounds like a great deal, but make sure everything works on it first. Make sure the joystick "feels" good andm the buttons "feels" right. Other than that, get down there and pick up your new MVS cabienet.

Take a look at the condition of the inside of the cab and if it looks decent,

Um, not to sound stupid, but what would look decent? I don't know anything about how it's supposed to look. :o

Flood Damage
Rust
Cracking
Burn Marks
Melt Marks
Loose Wires
Exposed Wires
Broken Stuff
Hanging Stuff

Anything else? :o

LOL! Thanks, I'll also check for Dead Boys inside the Cabinet too. Oh, also look for 3 Year old Saliva Stains on the Screen!
