Yes, it will take very much to do that, but everyone will be impressed when you'll see an AES re-built casing made of wood, the same goes to the joysticks, wich their buttons will be woody too!

I have talked several times with a very famous portuguese art carpenter to do that, he said no. Now I have convinced him to do that job. It will take my wallet for months!

It will look so cool that we shouldn't even notice that it is not an SNK oficial product!

I will have it for me, at least for a while. But like this will cost me loads of cash, I will put it some day on auction, I already gived a starting cash amount to the artist of 400 €uros, the other amount will be paid in three times of 200 €uros each time. Definitely I will be amazaded! So you will! :eek: :D

Mr Gomes is really a Pro. He works wood like nobody else. He can repoduce almost everything with is magic of working the wood. It was very hard to convince him to do a console wood replica.

Just sad the that man have a lot of other priority masterpieces to do before he starts building my Neo Geo.

I can't wait to see it finished. :rolleyes:

How long will it take? Will he treat the wood to resist termites? What kind of wood will he be using? I hope he is as good with electronics as he is wood if he is the one thats gonna put it all together. There is also a company that makes all wood computer cases. Including the monitor, keyboard (keys and all), and tower. Very nice but very expensive. Upwords of 7 to 10 grand. Good luck and cant wait to see the finished project. :D

Depends. The neo have a lot of of curving edges. He won't start it at least before 2 weeks. I will have to be without my Neo Geo during his job. That's why roms are usefull sometimes! :D

So its gonna be an exact duplicate of the real neo geo but in wood? Will it have a spring loaded door that flips open when you shuv a cart in like the original? If its gonna be the same size and all it will be very hard to get the wood down to 1/8 of an inch thick. Heck the original deck's case is what...1/16 of and inch thick? Man, that case will have to be treated delecately. Come to think of it the wood case will have to be 1/16 inch thick so that all the parts fit correctly unless you make it slightly bigger. All I can say is that if it comes out an exact copy is WOW. Again WOW :eek: :eek:

coz' this is original. professionally made. It would be a masterpiece in any Neo Geo collection. Except the Dion and Chris one.

Yea, sounds good, but who really cares about it. You can burn it an accident when ure drunk or so. I want play good games with neo, so its same to me if its wooden, iron or plastic. Guys are right, u burn ur own money so do what u want, but dont expect anyone to pay that thing more than you now. Maybe i want wooden gamecube? NOT !

Cash burning? Yes! Like Shawn burned in his car plates. Like you burn maybe at a McShit restaurant, Like lots of people burn with drugs, like lots of people burns with bitches and so...

I do not care If I won't sell one day, I have said that I should only sell it if I need money. My Intention is to keep it with me.

I'm only 22-years old, I have nothing to do than buyimg games! I am affording a house, then when the loan will come, I may look for a car, but I don't really care, I like to walk by my own. But all this crazyness about Neo Geo gaming/collection/burning cash does not bother me. I would like to see a Metal Slug and Kiz Encounter for cheap, but I know it won't happen.

I am now waiting for my lovely woody Neo! :D

i would like to now how are you going to duplicate the neo-geo emblem on the front of the neo are you going to have him engrave it that would be owe so sweet and also i would love to see some pics when it is done.

Really though, anybody that says they wouldn't trade in their normal AES for a wooden AES is a LIAR!!! See if you can talk the guy into throwing in a wooden cart as a showpiece or something. Shodown 2 comes to mind, that would be sweet. What color will the wood be? Pine? Cherry?

Also, are you actually going to play this thing, or will it be a collector's item?

I knew someone locally here that claimed they knew someone that could make joysticks out of wood. He said he was gonna get a wooden joystick for his Neo (this was a couple months back) but I never saw him get one. So I don't know if he was bs'ing or not.

I always thought it would be cool to have a nice joystick made out of cherry wood if it was done well.
