I was just wondering, what happened to Data East?

As I explore some of the non-fighting games for the Neo, I am finding that I like many of the Data East games. WIndjammers, Street Hoops and Magical Drop come to mind immediately.

Is Data East still in business?

Are they part of any current Neo projects?

I have not seen their name on any current releases on any other platform as well.

Love their games......... buttrock

Street Hoop/Street Slam/Dunk Dream was loads of fun.

If you ever see the soundtrack, definitely pick it up!

If I remember correctly, they are doing japanese PC software. There is a magical drop available for the PC which can be played with 2 people over the internet. Wow... now that's a game to bring to a current console for broadband play. Come to think of it, many Data East neo games would be perfect for such an endevour.

Fighters History Dynamite is an awesome game; I'd like to see a revamped sequel for the Neo, but know it will never happen.

That's the link to Data East, one of the "latest" games I think they made was Revive... on Dreamcast. I could be wrong though.
