I really like playing non Metal Slug games with a control pad, but dammit, it's too hard to double tap. I just can't do it on my CD pad.

I should get some other pads modded or something. Who does that kind of thing?

Its hard for me to shoot diagonal on metal slug using the CD pad.

I need to build my custom stick.

Just stick with the joysticks, the Neo pads aren't as easy to get used to like SNES PSX, and even GC ones.

The clicking noise the directional pad makes is a bit annoying, but you can usaually ignore it if you get deep into a game. I also find they aren't as firm as other pads because of the moving head - its just like moving a joystick with your thumb....

I like the CD pad alright, its not too bad. It hasnt really hindered my performance in metal slug at all. I actually enjoy that clicking noise the d-pd makes. But i will agree joysticks are the best.

What's really amazing is I have a couple friends who use the CD pads for EVERY Neo game (including fighting games). *shudders*

I have actually started using the CD pad for all Neo games, even over the old style joystick.

Oddly enough, it has helped with using the XBox analog stick for CvS2, though not enough to make me any good vs. real people. wink

I broke some fingers in my left hand when i was younger it doesnt make any diffrence but it hurts like hell if i play with the stick for more than an hour hence the pad is my preference! loco

I only have the CD-sticks with my Neo.
No problems with double-tapping on them for me.

I dunno how good the 'Xtra large' Neo stick is - I assume its rather nice and all - by my CD-sticks are perfectly adiquate.
